Introduction

Southern Cross was an anime series. It was a so-so series that did not receive a standalone US release, but instead found itself merged with two unrelated series to form, Frankenstein-style, the 1980-s US adaptation Robotech.

Nation-state of Southern Cross

The flag of the nation-state of Southern Cross from the anime series of the same name appears in the title sequence (available at Toonami Digital Arsenal). Not too inspired a design — that bird looks like it belongs in a turkey dinner, not a coat of arms. Fussy, too.
