Presentation of Župa dubrovačka

Župa dubrovačka is one of the rare examples of municipalities in Croatia that do not have the same name as the place where the seat of the administration is. The main town of the municipality is Srebreno, located about 10 km south-east of Dubrovnik, since 1991 administratively part of the Town of Dubrovnik, but seceded in 1997. The municipality has about 6,600 inhabitants, 550 in Srebreno.
The economic base in the history was agriculture, being a very rich region in the vicinity of Dubrovnik and providing the town with agricultural goods. Today, tourism is, of course, of uttermost importance.

The coat of arms is described in the aforementioned Decision as "A woman's head with black head and black bun bearing on a twist argent a basket or filled with fruit".
This refers to the traditional way the peasant girls would bring their goods into the town markets. It is also said that the girls from this region are very pretty looking, which is not hard to believe.
