Culemborg municipality
Number of inhabitants (1 Jan 2003): 26.213; area: 31,18 km². Settlements: Culemborg (seat) and some hamlets.
Culemborg is a municipality in West Gelderland (West Betuwe) not far from Utrecht. It has some international fame as the birthplace of Jan van Riebeek, who founded the Cape Colony in 1652.
The flag (adoption date unknown) is derived from the municipal coat of arms.
