Oriz (Santa Marinha), also given as Santa Marinha de Oriz,was one of the 37 communes of Vila Verde Municipality affected by the 2013 changes. It had 336 inhabitants in 2011 and covered 2,44 km².

Shield Argent a raised granary Azure roofed Gules, in chief a pair of scales Gules, held up by a sword flamant Gules in pale, base wavy Azure a bar wavy Argent. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case serifed letters "ORIZ S. MIGUEL - VILA VERDE".
Meaning:
Sword and scales are attributes of St. Michael, local patron saint and name giver of the commune.
