Flag of Bilecik Province
The flag of Bilecik Province (photo, photo) is white with the province's emblem. "T.C." stands for "Türkiye Cumhuriyeti", "Republic of Turkey"; "Valiliği" means "Governorate".
The emblem, adopted in 2017, is clearly inspired by the emblem of the Ottoman Empire. The historical reference is sounded since the Ottoman Empire was founded in Söğüt by Osman, head of the Osmanli tribe; Söğüt served as the capital of the emerging state from 1299 to 1335.
