Please send any feedback to me at (Please use a descriptive subject which I can easily distinguish from spam.) I appreciate all constructive comments on how to make these pages more pedagogically and scientifically useful, more entertaining, and clearer. I particularly like to see

• Corrections of errors.
• Contributions of additional curious names. Please include as much information as possible about the name and why it is curious. Don't assume, for example, that I will recognize that it is named after a particular rock singer. If you do not want your name mentioned in the acknowledgements, please let me know.
• Additional information about any of the names here.
• Links to good related pages.

I have collected relatively few of these names on my own. The people who contribute feedback deserve the credit for the vast majority of the content of this site.
