Cause: (See description below) Lives Lost: 1 Category: Falls in Mine :: Falls of Side Deceased and another stoneman were taking down top canches at the face of gateways in the Yard seam. They had fired at intervals three successful shots in the place where the accident happened. After the third shot they commenced to rid and pack, and while deceased was getting stones just under the lip of the canch a stone 18 inches thick fell from the blow and killed him. The stone was liberated by slip and a break and was probably loosened by the shots. There was timber under it, but the breaking of props were close to it. The chargeman, father of the stoneman who worked with deceased, had examined the place twice during the shift.
