Match Report
IN OTHER NEWS ...
It was on 30 May 1909 that six men drowned at 1 a.m. in Stornoway Harbour in the Western Isles. A local watchman was ferrying three fishermen to their boats. Another six men boarded his small boat from another craft and it began to take on water. Before they could turn around, it sank, and with most wearing heavy clothes and boots, six of the ten, including the sixty-year-old watchman, tragically lost their lives, just yards from the shore.
