Éomund himself was slain in battle with Orcs on the borders of the Emyn Muil. Notes 1 We have no record of Éomund's date of birth, but we do know that he married in the year III 2989. Assuming that he would have been around twenty years old on that date, he would have been born in approximately III 2969.
