He was recorded in the roll of the fallen, and his body was buried in the Mounds of Mundburg, but nothing further is known of his life. He was perhaps named for a more famous Rider of Rohan, Fastred the brother of Théoden's grandfather Fengel, who rode to defend Gondor in an earlier battle, more than a century before the War of the Ring.
