In theory, the King's Host (or Éoherë) consisted of one hundred éoreds, and each éored contained some hundred and twenty Riders, so the entire Host would in principle have been twelve thousand strong. In fact no such great Host had ever been gathered in the history of Rohan. Even the greatest Full Muster of the Riders, the force who rode to the relief of Minas Tirith in the War of the Ring, consisted of less than seven thousand Men.
