In Sindarin, the same day was known as Ormenel, and when it found its way into the calendar of the Shire-hobbits, this 'Heavens' Day' took its name from a translation into the Common Tongue: Hevenesdei. By the time of the War of the Ring, Hevenesdei had evolved into 'Hevensday'. See also...
