An enquië had six days rather than seven, named (in Quenya) Elenya, Anarya, Isilya, Aldúya, Menelya and Valanya. Valanya is noted as being the 'chief' day of the week, and served a ritual purpose. A continuous sequence of 8,766 enquier ('weeks') - or 52,596 days - formed the period the Elves called a yén, consisting of 144 solar years.
