Disciple of Yoshizawa Ayame IV, he received the name of Yoshizawa Kichij�r� and started his career in Edo, where he performed as a wakaonnagata. He took the name of Yoshizawa Goroichi II in the 11th lunar month of 1782 in Edo. He went to Kamigata with his master in Fall 1787. His rank in the 1792 �saka hy�banki, wakaonnagata was j�-j� (superior - superior) [visual]. He was recorded as living in �saka in the district of Kur�emon-ch�. He was specialized in koshimoto or ny�b� roles, excelling in sewamono dramas. No stage record afterwards.
