Rapper and producer Dr. Dre was a co-founder of the influential rap group N.W.A. and a member of the World Class Wreckin' Cru. As a producer, Dre has helped launch the rap careers of such artists as Eminem, Snoop Dogg, and Eve. As a rapper, Dre is credited with being one of the biggest influences for the popularity of gansta rap. Individually, Dre is credited for the 'G-Funk Sound' - a George Clinton-like, gangster-funk sound.
While with N.W.A., Dre was accused of the assault of the female host, Dee Barnes, of a TV rap show.
Dre formed Death Row Records with Suge Knight after leaving N.W.A.
Dre could be heard with the hit "Nuthin' But A 'G' Thang" which also introduced rapper Snoop Doggy Dogg.
