Commitment to Highest Professional Standards

RP Photonics works very hard to provide excellent services in all respects. Customers can always rely on the compliance with highest professional standards:

• General principles:
  • We very consistently implement fair, honest and reliable treatment of all business partners, aiming at fruitful long-term relations. RP Photonics is strongly determined not to pursue or support any unethical professional conduct. We have solid principles and consistently adhere to those.
  • RP Photonics is determined to give reliable, independent and impartial advice. Should there ever be a potential conflict of interest, e.g. arising from work for another customer, this will be clearly communicated while carefully protecting the confidentiality for all involved parties.
  • Quality of work: All technical work is done by the founder, Dr. Rüdiger Paschotta, himself, to guarantee highest quality.
  • High level of flexibility. What makes sense, can be done — whether it is the usual way or not.
  • Timely delivery of results; no unrealistic promises concerning time or depth of available expertise are made.
  • The customer's information is carefully protected. If required by the customer, a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) can be signed, but even without that, all proprietary information is regarded as confidential unless the release is explicitly permitted in writing. Even the fact of cooperation is normally regarded as confidential. Sensitive electronic data are protected with great care (with secure password encryption, safe deletion, secure e-mail exchange, etc.).
• Consulting:
  • Highly reliable results, based on the expertise from many years of top-level scientific research and interaction with industry.
  • Precise and understandable descriptions of investigated scenario, assumptions, used methods, and results.
  • All work is entirely directed towards the customer's goals, as carefully evaluated in the beginning and constantly monitored by the customer in an interactive process.
  • Pragmatic, cost-efficient solutions are suggested to the customer.
  • Documentation of all work in high-quality consulting reports, if it goes beyond a quick e-mail answer.
• Software:
  • We are very aware that a lot of trust is needed when using software. We do all we can to deserve that trust.
  • We do our best to achieve high reliability. For example, we have carefully implemented various extensive testing procedures. While it is not possible to exclude any errors, when becoming aware of a problem, we diligently deal with it, trying to provide a quick and helpful solution to affected customers.
  • Our software will never do unethical things, such as sending any problematic data to RP Photonics (or elsewhere).
• Marketing:
  • We work hard to provide outstanding advertising value. The core part of that is consistently working on our famous website: We constantly look out for things which could be done better, and implement what we can.
  • We carefully help our advertising customers e.g. to optimize their product description, to make them aware of any deficiencies, etc.
  • We publish honest traffic data, i.e., carefully filter out all non-relevant traffic to never present inflated numbers.
• Encyclopedia and other website content:
  • While the quantity of content is impressive, quality is our highest priority. For example, improving existing articles has priority over adding new ones.
  • We use AI for various purposes, but make sure that you get genuine human-created content with high quality and reliability.
  • Helpfulness for the readers is the core goal.
  • We allow free use of all the content while fully respecting the users' privacy — no user tracking, only statistical evaluations.

By working hard in this way over many years, we have earned an outstanding reputation, and we do everything to maintain that.
