The outstanding Dutch player scored 28 international goals in 23 matches for his National Team. He held the Dutch record of goalsfor the national team from May 12, 1935 (when he equalled the total of Mannus Franckenand Wim Tap) until April 23, 1958 (when his total was surpassed by Abe Lenstra).

He obtained 5 caps (numbers 4 to 8 inclusive) while playing at the second level(tweede klasse).

He played one (unofficial) match for the Dutch East Indies(in fact, a Java selection) on August 17, 1930, a 4-4 draw in Batavia against Loh Hwa, a visiting side from Shanghai; this match was considered an official international match by the N.I.V.B. (the Dutch East Indies Football Association, FIFA members at the time).
