The outstanding Romanian player obtained 42 international caps with his National Team.
He established a series of 39 consecutive appearances (caps 1-39) which was not interrupted by any other matches of the Romanian national team. (In that series, he only missed the first 15 minutes of the match vs. Lithuania on 26- 8-1931, in which he came on as substitute, replacing Rudolf Bürgerafter a quarter of an hour.)
He held the Romanian caps record from June 24, 1935 (when he equalled the total of Emerich Vogl) until June 5, 1938 (when his total was surpassed by Iuliu Bodola).
