Uganda Cup

The Uganda Cup was first organised by FUFA in 1971, replacing the Kabaka's Cup, inaugurated in 1925 and later renamed Luwangula Cup. Between 1992 and 2010 the Uganda Cup was known as the Kakungulu Cup in honour of a former UFA vice president.

NB: tournament inaugurated in 1925 as UFA Cup, with teams for the first four division allowed to enter; both Budo School and Old Boys (apparently both from King's College) won the trophy on multiple occasions; later clubs like Public Works Department (PWD or Piida), Entebbe Government Printing Press (Puleesi), and Kenya and Uganda Railways and Harbours (Leerwe) played a prominent role in the competition; in the 1950s, it was organised by the Uganda Football Association; after having been stopped in 1953 for political reasons the tournament resumed in 1955 with a record entry of 61 teams; the first matches were played on 8 Sep and the final between Police and KTI on 18 Nov; tournament later renamed Luwangula Cup and replaced by the Uganda Cup in 1971.

Aspro Cup NB: main football tournament in the 1950s, played between the four provinces Buganda, Western, Eastern and Northern. Northern won in two consecutive years after beating Buganda in the semifinal; the 1957 edition was held in Gulu. Tournament known as Aspro Cup 1952-1966, Madhvani Cup 1966-1973, F.A. General Insurance Company Cup 1974-1978.

Challenge Cup

1961 Express 3-1 Uganda NB: held after Express protested that none of their players were selected for Uganda's team in the Gossage Cup; they challenged the national team and beat them 2-1 but the (British) coach of the national side demanded a replay, for which a trophy was donated by Nile Breweries
