The first X-15 test pilot group was nominated from the manufacturing firm NAA, the NACA (since 01. October 1958NASA) and theUSAF. UnfortunatelyUSAF prime pilotKincheloe died before taking up testflights and must be replaced by his backup pilot R.White. NAA backup pilot A.White was later not employed for X-15 program.
