This pufferfish is very shy and secretive. There are two other tobys (C. coronata and C. ocellicincta) and a filefish (Paraluteres prionurus) that look very similar. Actually the filefish mimics the poisonous puffer.

Dieser Kugelfisch ist sehr scheu und versteckt sich gerne. Es gibt zwei weitere Kugelfische (C. coronata and C. ocellicincta) und einen Feilenfisch (Paraluteres prionurus), die sehr ähnlich aussehen. Die harmlosen Feilenfische imitieren die giftige Kugelfische.

Habitat: seaward reefs, lagoons
Range: Red Sea to Tuamotus, to Japan
