The Present Rockwall County Courthouse
The new $37.2 million courthouse was completed in 2011 and dedicated on November 11, 2011. Designed by Brinkley Sargent Architects, the exterior is brick with stone details and the interior features terrazzo floors, granite wall paneling and mahogany ceiling paneling. - Terry Jeanson

"This photo is of the courthouse that was built in 1941 by WPA labor and cost $90,000. This modern structure comprised a basement, three stories and a jail housed on the top floor. "The 1878 courthouse was replaced by a native sandstone building in 1892 at a cost of $25,000 and was an architectural showpiece of its day.
