History in a Pecan Shell

Once the Headquarters of the Leaday Ranch, Voss was named after the ranch's manager who filled out the form to request a post office.

The same year (1904) that Fisk was coming into existence, Voss had two hotels, three stores besides the new Post Office. You could also get a haircut and have your horse shod.

Today Voss has a sign announcing itself as Bob Turner's hometown and indeed, when he's not in Austin, he's here.

The flag is flown and a restored Red and White Grocery Store gleams with fresh paint. This proves that no town is too small to preserve it's past or at least some part of it.
