History in a Pecan Shell
Not much is known about settlement, but there was a school in operation in the early 1880s (if not earlier). A lady named Ledbetter opened a post office in her home in 1895 to serve local residents. It went by the name of Bomar (see postmark below), named after her parent�s surname. It closed in 1914.
The town today has a church, cemetery and a community center.
