Ady, Texas, Potter County. (original) (raw)

History in a Pecan Shell
Settlement began with Agapito Sandoval, one of the sheepherders from New Mexico who came with Casimero Romaro.
In 1887 the Fort Worth and Denver City Railroad made it a switch on their line. In the early 1940s a sand and gravel operation opened here. There is no town center or much of anything. Today only the cemetery remains.
Photographer's Note:
"Ady is seven miles southeast of Tascosa, across the Potter County Line, just off FM 1061." -
