Circle Texas - Woodville CME Church

History on a Pinhead

Originally, Circle was part of Christopher C. Slaughter's ranch. When a store opened in 1928, the community was first called Punkin Center. The name Circle came into being when Highway 70 was built. No population figures are available for the community's early years, but two businesses were open in the 1960s although the church had disbanded prior to 1970.
