Captain Sir Thomas Adams, 6th Bt. was the son of Sir Robert Adams, 5th Bt. and Diana (?)1 He married Hon. Frances Anne (?) in 1764.1 He died on 12 April 1770 at Virginia, U.S.A.G, without issue.1 His will was proven (by probate) in November 1770.1
He succeeded as the 6th Baronet Adams, of Sprowston Hall, Norfolk [E., 1660] circa 1754.1 He gained the rank of Captain on 17 August 1760 in the Royal Navy.1 He was commander of the frigate, H.M.S. Boston in 1770.1
On his death, his Baronetcy became extinct.1

Rear-Admiral Sir Edmund Affleck, 1st Bt was born on 19 April 1725.1,2 He was the son of Gilbert Affleck and Anna Dolben.1 He married, firstly, Esther Ruth, daughter of John Ruth.1 He married, secondly, Margaret Burgess, daughter of John Burgess and Suzannah Nicolls, on 14 May 1788 at St. Marylebone Church, Marylebone Road, Marylebone, London, EnglandG.1 He died on 19 November 1788 at age 63, without issue.1 His will was proven (by probate) on 24 November 1788.1 His will was proven (by probate) on 28 June 1788.
He gained the rank of Lieutenant in 1745 in the Royal Navy.1 He gained the rank of Post Captain in 1757.1 He fought in the Battle of Cape St. Vincent on 16 January 1780, where he distinguished himself.1 He fought in the Battle of St. Christophers on 26 January 1782.1 He fought in the action off Dominica in April 1782, where he passed through a gap in the enemy's line and greatly contributed to their defeat.1 He succeeded as the 1st Baronet Affleck, of Dalham Hall, co. Suffolk [Great Britain] on 10 July 1782, with a special remainder to the issue of his father.1 He gained the rank of Rear-Admiral of the Blue in 1784.1 He gained the rank of Rear-Admiral of the Red in 1786.1 He lived at Finringhoe Hall, Essex, EnglandG.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Colchester between October 1787 and 1788.1 He has an extensive biographical entry in the Dictionary of National Biography.3
