Andrew Robert Fowell Buxton was born on 5 April 1939.2 He is the son of Captain Joseph Gurney Fowell Buxton and Elizabeth Langley Barbour.2 He married Jane Margery Grant, daughter of Lt.-Col. John Peter Grant, 15th of Rothiemurchus and Katherine Greaves, Countess of Dysart, on 1 May 1965.2
He was educated at Winchester College, Winchester, Hampshire, EnglandG.2 He did his National Service as a 2nd Lieutenant in the Grenadier Guards.2 He was educated at Pembroke College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG.2 He was with Barclays Bank, and became general manager in 1980, and chief executive in 1992 between 1963 and 1993.2 He was chairman of Barclays Bank between 1992 and 1999.2 He lived in 2003 at Bentley Park, Ipswich, Suffolk, EnglandG.2

Sir John Emmott Barlow, 1st Bt. was born on 16 April 1857.1 He was the son of Thomas Barlow and Mary Ann Emmott.2 He married Hon. Anna Maria Heywood Denman, daughter of Hon. Richard Denman and Helen Mary McMicking, on 13 July 1895.1 He died on 17 September 1932 at age 75.1
He was admitted to Inner Temple entitled to practise as a Barrister-at-Law.1 He was a senior partner of Thomas Barlow & Brothers of Manchester and London, and of Barlow and Company of Calcutta, Shanghai, Singapore and Kuala Lumpur.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Liberal) for Frome between 1892 and 1895.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Liberal) for Frome between 1896 and 1918.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Cheshire.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Somerset.1 He held the office of County Alderman for Cheshire.1 He was created 1st Baronet Barlow, of Bradwall Hall, Sandbach, Cheshire [U.K.] on 20 July 1907.1
