Sir William de Dalzell1

On 13 August 1364 he obtained a grant of the fee of £5 p.a. as serjeant of lanark from King David II.1 Sir William de Dalzell fought in the Battle of Otterburn in 1388, where he lost an eye.1 In 1390 he accompanied Sir David Lindsay (later Earl of Crawford) to the famous tournament at London where he defated the English champion Sir Peirs Courtenay.1

He was educated at Harrow School, Harrow, London, EnglandG.1 He was the Rector between 1846 and 1879 at Wrotham, Kent, EnglandG.1 He held the office of Hon. Canon of Canterbury Cathedral.1 He was Rural Dean of Shoreham.1
