Sir Robert Crichton, 1st Lord Crichton of Sanquhar

Sir Robert Crichton, 1st Lord Crichton of Sanquhar was the son of Sir Robert Crichton of Sanquhar and Elizabeth Erskine.1 He married, firstly, Margaret Hay.1 He married, secondly, Christian Erskine, daughter of Sir John Erskine of Kinnoull, before 1457.1 He died from July 1494 to February 1494/95.1
He fought in the Battle of Lochmaben in 1484, which he successfully defended for King James III against the 9th Earl of Douglas.1 He was created 1st Lord Crichton of Sanquhar [Scotland] on 29 January 1487/88.1

Robert Crichton, 2nd Lord Crichton of Sanquhar was the son of Robert Crichton of Kinnoull and Lady Marion Stuart.1 He married Marion Maxwell circa 1491.1 He died between 13 July 1513 and 6 November 1513, probably killed Flodden on 9 September 1513.1
He succeeded as the 2nd Lord Crichton of Sanquhar [S., 1488] circa February 1494/95.1

Robert Crichton, 3rd Lord Crichton of Sanquhar was the son of Robert Crichton, 2nd Lord Crichton of Sanquhar and Marion Maxwell.1 He married Elizabeth Murray, daughter of Sir John Murray of Cockpool.1 He died from 12 July 1516 to 16 October 1520.1
He succeeded as the 3rd Lord Crichton of Sanquhar [S., 1488] in 1513.1
