Hugh O'Neill, 3rd Earl of Tyrone1

Hugh O'Neill, 3rd Earl of Tyrone was born in 1550.2 He is the son of Ferdoragh O'Neill, 1st Baron of Dungannon and Joan Maguire.2,3 He married, firstly, unknown daughter O'Neill, daughter of Sir Brian MacPhelim O'Neill and unnamed Scotswoman (?).2 He married, thirdly, Siobhan O'Donnell, daughter of Sir Aodh O'Donnell.3 He and unknown daughter O'Neill were divorced.2 He married, secondly, Joan O'Neill, daughter of Sir Terence 'Lynagh' O'Neill, before March 1579.2 He and Joan O'Neill were divorced.2 He married, fourthly, Mabel Bagenal, daughter of Sir Nicholas Bagenal and Eleanora Griffith, on 3 August 1591. They had eloped.4 He married, fifthly, Catherine Magennis, daughter of unknown Magennis, before 6 June 1597.2 He died on 20 July 1616 at Rome, ItalyG, in exile.4
He succeeded as the 3rd Baron of Dungannon [I., 1542] on 12 April 1562.2 He succeeded as the 3rd Earl of Tyrone [I., 1542] on 12 April 1562, and was recognised as such in 1585.4 He held the position of from resignation of Chiefship by his cousin Turlough to his own renunciation of it when making submission to King James I on latter's accession Chief of the Clan O'Neill from between 1593 and 1603.2 He succeeded as the King Aedh of Ulster in 1598.4 He fought in the Battle of the Blackwater on 14 August 1598, his army cut the Army of Ireland to pieces, killing his brother-in-law, Sir Henry Bagenal, the Marshal-General, in the battle.4 He fought in the Battle of Kinsale on 24 December 1601, which ended his resistance against the English.2 On 14 September 1607 fearing imminent arrest for further disaffection towards the English he left Ireland, initially intending to go to Spain but because of bad weather landing in France then making for Louvain, in the Spanish Netherlands, with nearly 100 compatriots.2 Before 5 August 1608 he was attainted for high treason and stripped of his titles in an episode lknown as the Flight of the Earls.2 He was "the last and one of the greatest of Gaelic kings."4

Hugh Seymour McDonnell, 4th Earl of Antrim was born on 7 August 1812 at London, EnglandG.2 He was the son of Vice-Admiral Lord Mark Robert Kerr and Charlotte MacDonnell, Countess of Antrim.1 He married Lady Laura Cecilia Parker, daughter of Thomas Parker, 5th Earl of Macclesfield and Eliza Wolstenholme, on 3 May 1836 at St. George's Church, St. George Street, Hanover Square, London, EnglandG.1 He died on 19 July 1855 at age 42 at Glenarm CastleG, without male issue.1 He was buried on 30 July 1855 at BonamargyG.1
He was given the name of Hugh Seymour Kerr at birth.1 He succeeded as the 4th Viscount Dunluce [I., 1785] on 26 October 1835.1 He succeeded as the 4th Earl of Antrim [I., 1785] on 26 October 1835.1 On 27 June 1836 his name was legally changed to Hugh Seymour McDonnell by Royal Licence.1

Lady Laura Cecilia Parker1

Lady Laura Cecilia Parker was born in 1809.1 She was the daughter of Thomas Parker, 5th Earl of Macclesfield and Eliza Wolstenholme.1 She married Hugh Seymour McDonnell, 4th Earl of Antrim, son of Vice-Admiral Lord Mark Robert Kerr and Charlotte MacDonnell, Countess of Antrim, on 3 May 1836 at St. George's Church, St. George Street, Hanover Square, London, EnglandG.1 She died on 26 January 1883 at Beaufort Gardens, South Kensington, London, EnglandG.1
After her marriage, Lady Laura Cecilia Parker was styled as Countess of Antrim on 3 May 1836. From 3 May 1836, her married name became Kerr. From 27 June 1836, her married name became MacDonnell.1

Thomas Parker, 5th Earl of Macclesfield was born on 9 June 1763.1 He was the son of Thomas Parker, 3rd Earl of Macclesfield and Mary Heathcote.1 He married, firstly, unknown Edwards, daughter of Lewis Edwards, on 16 March 1796.1 He married, secondly, Eliza Wolstenholme, daughter of William Breton Wolstenholme, on 19 March 1807.1 He died on 31 March 1850 at age 86.1
He gained the rank of officer between 1780 and 1782 in the Coldstream Guards.1 He held the office of High Sheriff of Oxfordshire between 1808 and 1809.1 He graduated from Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, in 1834 with a Doctor of Civil Law (D.C.L.)1 He held the office of High Steward of Henley in 1842.1 He succeeded as the 5th Earl of Macclesfield, co. Eliza Wolstenholme1

Eliza Wolstenholme was born in 1781 at Holly Hill, Sussex, EnglandG.2 She was the daughter of William Breton Wolstenholme.1 She married Thomas Parker, 5th Earl of Macclesfield, son of Thomas Parker, 3rd Earl of Macclesfield and Mary Heathcote, on 19 March 1807.3 She died on 1 January 1862.3
Her married name became Parker. After her marriage, Eliza Wolstenholme was styled as Countess of Macclesfield on 20 March 1842.
