Colonel Thomas Becher1

Colonel Thomas Becher was born circa 1640 at Baltimore, County Cork, IrelandG.2 He was the son of Major Henry Becher and Elizabeth Notte.1 He married Elizabeth Turner, daughter of Henry Turner and Dorothy Boyle, in 1665.1,2 He died on 10 October 1709.2 He was buried at St. Matthew's Church, Aughadown, County Cork, IrelandG.2 His will (dated 21 August 1705) was proven (by probate) on 11 March 1709/10.2
He was educated in 1658 at Dublin University, Dublin, County Dublin, IrelandG.2 He fought in the Battle of the Boyne in 1690, as the Aide-de-Camp to King William III.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Baltimore [Ireland] in 1692.2 He was Governor of the Island of Inisherkin, County Cork on 1 July 1692.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Baltimore [Ireland] between 1696 and 1699.2 He lived at Aughadown, Skibbereen, County Cork, IrelandG.1 He lived at Sherkin Island, Skibbereen, County Cork, IrelandG.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Baltimore [Ireland] between 1703 and 1709.2

Elizabeth Turner was born circa 1650.2 She was the daughter of Henry Turner and Dorothy Boyle.1 She married Colonel Thomas Becher, son of Major Henry Becher and Elizabeth Notte, in 1665.1,2 She died in 1720.2
From 1665, her married name became Becher.1
