Jean V de Montfort, Duc de Bretagne was born on 24 December 1389 at Vannes, France.1 He was the son of Jean IV de Montfort, Duc de Bretagne and Jeanne d'Evreux, Princesse de Navarre.1 He married Jeanne de Valois, Princesse de France, daughter of Charles VI, Roi de France and Isabelle von Bayern, on 19 September 1396 at Paris, France.2 He died on 29 August 1422 at age 32 at Nantes, France.1
He gained the title of Duc de Bretagne in 1399.2,3
