Charles Lindsay Temple was born on 20 November 1871.2 He is the son of Rt. Hon. Sir Richard Temple, 1st Bt. and Mary Augusta Lindsay.2 He married Olive Susan Miranda MacLeod, daughter of Sir Reginald Macleod, 27th of MacLeod and Lady Agnes Mary Cecilia Northcote, on 28 April 1912.2 He died on 9 January 1929 at age 57, without issue.2
He was Vice-Consul to Manaus Brazil between 1899 and 1901.2 He was Resident of Northern Nigeria between 1901 and 1910.2 He was Chief Secretary of Northern Nigeria between 1910 and 1913.2 He held the office of Lieutenant-Governor of Northern Nigeria between 1913 and 1917.1 He was appointed Companion, Order of St. Michael and St. George (C.M.G.)2 He was appointed Fellow, Geological Society (F.G.S.)2 He was appointed Fellow, Royal Geographical Society (F.R.G.S.)2

Alice MacLeod was born on 24 June 1902 at Paddington, London, EnglandG.1,2 She was the daughter of Hubert Walter and Dame Flora Louisa Cecilia Macleod, 28th of Macleod.3 She married Archibald Corrie Macnab of that Ilk, 22nd Chief, son of James William MacNabb and Alice Mary Corrie, on 23 March 1931.1 She died on 21 July 1980 at age 78.3
She was given the name of Alice Walter at birth.3 She graduated from Girton College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, EnglandG, in 1924 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)1 From 23 March 1931, her married name became Macnab. She was awarded the Kaisar-i-Hind Medal silver and gold.1 In 1943 her name was legally changed to Alice MacLeod of MacLeod.3 In 1949 her name was legally changed to Alice MacLeod Macnab.3
