snapshot_seeker is for anyone and everyone who enjoys taking pictures. You do not have to be professional. Anyone can take beautiful/neat/crazy photos. This is a place to share them and hopefully get a little encouragement to get out there and see what you can do with a camera. We have weekly themes that range from being very general categories to more specific things. We also have a monthly scavenger hunt which we hope is a little more challenging than the weekly themes. Although we ask you to fill in an application that will be voted on by members, we will NOT rate you or your appearance! That is not what we are about. The reason for the application is simply so we can get an idea of the type of person you are and decide if you are someone who is going to enjoy this community and the people in it. Basically, we're assessing whether or not you are a fun, girly person that we're going to get along with! =DThis is the place to chat about life & love, ask for fashion or beauty advice, take part in fun girly conversations and make new, lovely friends with similar interests. movie greats - classic movies movie_greats is a new community for discussing movies made up to the end of the 1970s. We discuss all types of movies from that era, and not just Hollywood movies. From Howard Hawks to Coppola, from Mervyn LeRoy to Orson Welles, from Robert Wise to François Truffaut. Plus all the stars – Garbo, Cary Grant, Marlene Dietrich, Louise Brooks, Joan Crawford, Bette Davis, Peter Lorre, Bogart, Harlow, Brando, Montgomery Clift, Elizabeth Taylor, Sean Connery, etc. We talk about musicals, crime movies, film noir, screwball comedies, French New Wave, British movies, Italian movies, science fiction movies, anything made before the end of the 1970s. We’ll be doing some in-depth discussions, and we’ll be having lots of fun.  |

strange tears - poetry & art of the 19th century strange_tears is a place to come to discuss 19th century artists and art movements like Romanticism, the Gothic, the Pre-Raphaelites, the Symbolists, Art Nouveau and the Decadents. In fact most 19th century art with the exception of the Impressionists. We’ll also be discussing poetry and prose, again concentrating on the Romantics, the Gothics, the Pre-Raphaelites, Aestheticism, the Decadence and the Symbolists. We’ll also be discussing certain trends and tendencies in 19th century society. Areas like spiritualism, Egyptology, Rosicrucianism, magick and its influence on art and literature, the Celtic Twilight, Victorian attitudes towards homosexuality, women in Victorian society, the way women were depicted in the art and literature of the time, the dandy, the Salon de la Rose+Croix, attitudes towards sexuality, etc. And of course Oscar Wilde!If you like the paintings of Rossetti, Burne-Jones, Holman Hunt, Delville, Moreau, Redon, Schwabe, von Stuck, Böcklin, Khnopff, Levy-Dhurmer and Klimt, or the poetry of Dowson, Symons, Swinburne, Baudelaire, Verlaine or Mallarme, then this community could be just what you’re looking for.  |

 hogwarts_elite is a school of witchcraft and wizardry reserved for only the finest students in the wizarding world. In order to become a member of this community, one must first prove his or her prowess in wizarding knowledge. Aspiring members must submit a sorting application at sorting_elite, which sorts into the four canon houses, Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw and Slytherin. hogwarts_elite is not your average sorting community. Cult TV Lounge - 60s and 70s cult TV A community for Cult TV - cult_tv_lounge. The Swinging 60s brought revolutions in music and fashion, and also television. The place to be in the Swinging 60s was London, and British TV found itself at the cutting edge of television, with programs like Danger Man, The Prisoner and The Avengers. Cool and sexy, and unlike anything that had gone before. Science fiction arrived on TV with Dr Who, while even the kids’ shows were cool – series like Stingray, Thunderbirds and Captain Scarlet. As the 60s gave way to the 70s, the mood got darker and grittier, with spy series like Callan and cop shows like The Sweeney. The science fiction had a darker edge as well, with Blakes 7 and UFO. cult movies I’ve started a community, cult_movie, for lovers of cult movies – anything from 1950s schlock science fiction to Russ Meyer, from 1940s B-movies to David Lynch, from Jess Franco’s horror films to Andy Warhol’s underground movies, from German horror movies of the 1920s to contemporary indie films, from 1970s lesbian vampire flicks to Ed Wood, from independent film-makers like Derek Jarman to Harold and Maude, from 50s camp classics like The Bad Seed to 80s camp classics like The Lair of the White Worm, from 50s juvenile delinquent movies to 60s and 70s Eurotrash. In fact we discuss almost anything that can be considered a cult movie. The only things we don’t discuss are slasher movies, modern horror gorefests and similar stuff.
