This article presents briefly how this system is displayed in the Old Testament, nuancing the way in which this subject polarises the theological world even to this day. Research proves that the law of levirate agrees with the monogamous model instituted by God at creation, both in anactment and in practice.

This article is of interest because it presents a brief, but realistic, perspective on the person... more This article is of interest because it presents a brief, but realistic, perspective on the personality and achievments of one of the best leaders that the Adventist Church has ever had: Carl Ludwig Richard Conradi. Having left the Church he served for more than forty years, at the highest level, at the end of his life, Conradi remains a mystery for the adventist world: on one side appreciated for the many talents he had, for the pioneering spirit and for the extraordinary success, on the other side blamed, being considered an apostate adventist. Despite the weaknesses, his personality and activity compel us to the utmost respect. The article also includes positive and negative elements of the European and Romanian Adventism, shaped according to this leader's missionary strategy and vision.

This is even more visible among young people who, for decades, have been deprived of religious, Christian education, and are now raising serious moral issues.

Temptations are more and more explicit both on the level of fashion, makeup, music, and on the level of leisure and holidays. Sex has become so present in our culture that it became a part of the air we breathe in (Weeks 1986, 4). Moral and legal constraints that once made unfaithfulness a sin, shameful or a felony, are now gone. Today's society almost does not constrain you to be faithful, only the love for the spouse being able to do so.

The dynamic character of the marital interactions often guides the marital couple either towards ... more The dynamic character of the marital interactions often guides the marital couple either towards stability, cohesion, and progress or towards instability, discord and sometimes, even dissolution. The biological, physical, and spiritual forces ensure matrimonial faithfulness. Starting with the internal and external factors, we have analyzed the progress of the individual from realizing his psycho-sexual identity to entering the marital couple, and therewith emphasizing, from a sociological and psychological viewpoint the numerous theories that highlight the marital option. When establishing the different marital typologies, we took into consideration only the relationships between the partners of marital couples, analyzing the marriages through the criteria which define the family life: cohesion, stability, tension, belligerency, adjustment, integration, and development.

Over time, when in crises, the partners in a marital couple have tried to solve their problems in... more Over time, when in crises, the partners in a marital couple have tried to solve their problems in an extramarital frame, the unfaithful relationships being the constant cause of couples' dissolution, no matter the age or durability of the marriage. Unfaithfulness has been the way married people chose to express themselves against narrow, traditional patterns, and a dull private life. Therefore, the adulterous relationships have meant, to some extent, the attempt to compensate for the dissatisfactions of the married life, thus sweetening the banality of the conventional and the bitterness of having an unwanted partner.

Through school, the communists had, as their main objective, the education of children and young people in the spirit of material-scientific conception of the world and life. The monopolization of the media, the introduction of materials that favor atheism in the analytical curriculum, and the carrying out of performances in which the main Christian celebrations were caricatured, were just some of the methods of actively implementing the creation of the “new man”.

In a society where comrade Elena Ceaușescu claimed to be the "mother of the people", the neo-Protestant cults had to endure repressive measures just because they had educated their children and young people in a Christian spirit.

During the communist period, Romanian authorities faced a problem specific to the Adventist Churc... more During the communist period, Romanian authorities faced a problem specific to the Adventist Church - the Adventist children did not attend school on Saturdays. Although they used the most varied methods of persuasion and coercion of children and parents to solve this problem, the
authorities have not managed to fully defeat their resistance. This was the "big Adventist problem" that caused serious problems to the Department of Cults and to the Securitate bodies, the Ministry of Education, the County School Inspectorates, the organizations of pioneers and youth, and the schools.

Compromise by European church leaders, dissatisfaction with leadership decisions, alleged "new li... more Compromise by European church leaders, dissatisfaction with leadership decisions, alleged "new light", personal issues of self-centeredness and the quest for high church positions have given rise on the stage of history to the largest splinter group in the Seventh-day Adventist Church from its origins to the present-the Reform Movement. The history of the Reform Movement is a sad history, a history of the struggle caused by persecution from without and, above all, the turmoil that has swept it from within. Reformism caught on in territories where people were trained and willing to accept authoritarianism and dictatorial control, with criticism of the Seventh-day Adventist Church virtually the ultimate religion and goal.

New technologies have transformed society in recent decades, positioning it in a constantly changing environment. Both positive and negative influences, accelerated especially in the context of the pandemic generated by the COV-ID-19 virus, have been felt even in academia, found quite reluctant to align itself with the trend proposed by the new technological tendencies. This article aims to capture some of the benefits and drawbacks of online learning in postmodernism, and to outline some solutions that could be relevant to remedy the problems encountered, as well as some proposals for improving the teaching-learning-assessment process.

Moral uprightness is reffering to the whole ensemble of certainties, motivations and habits that ... more Moral uprightness is reffering to the whole ensemble of certainties, motivations and habits that have a firm ground in solid principles, norms and rules, historically and socialy determined, which are governing the way people are interacting and relate to each other, having as foundation one’s conscience and public opinion. In this article, following a short introduction, integrity is presented as a core moral value, seen from both an individual and public perspective, and also from that of the freedom of conscience. It also emphasizes some principles that should secure the moral uprightness in our post modern society.
As far as the religious standpoint is concerned, the author stresses the fact the moral uprightness and freedom of conscience are both divine blessings, sacred gifts given for keeping in proper balance one’s self, necessary for having harmonious and fair associations with thouse that we live with and to grow lovesome liaisons with both other people and God.

Following a brief introduction, this article provides some definitions of euthanasia, while aimin... more Following a brief introduction, this article provides some definitions of euthanasia, while aiming to bring to the reader’s attention the way in which the concept has emerged and developed throughout history. Subsequently, we shall present some criteria for the classification of euthanasia, but some pros and cons also, which tension the ethical, medical, legal, and religious debates about the legalization of euthanasia. Towards the end, we shall visit a few dilemmas gravitating on the subject, and also present some biblical principles, which should be the perspective from which the issue of euthanasia is to be considered. The worst thing, when we talk about euthanasia, is that the whole system of values, which was seen as a good one from the very beginning, is now overthrown. The battle for life, the supreme value that gave birth to Hippocrates’ medicine, is substituted for the battle for death.

As it was an exclusive “religion”, which could not accept another one around it, the communism became “the enemy of any other form of religion, and in particular of Christianity” (Bardyaev 1960, 158). Becoming aware that with adults they could not achieve their goals, communism accepted the idea that it should “bear” the adults’ convictions and mindset and focus on the younger generations to stop the forwarding of religious beliefs.
