**( 1 more picCollapse )**I'm really loving how it came out... some of the beads are butterflies and I wrapped them so it looks like the spider has been hard at work. | |

Paintings! | [10 Aug 2005|08:54pm] |
---|---|
yay for paintings! I do know now, NOT TO DO TWO PAINTINGS IN ONE NIGHT!But anyways. Here's the first onehttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v518/blashamma/brighteyes.jpgThis is an example of the rare occurance where something looks better on the computer than it does in real life. The ides looked way cooler in my head, and I started painting, and I think it looks more like something that should be hanging in a little girl's room. She reminds me of a cross between Barbie and that Jon Benet Ramsey girl. And now for the second onehttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v518/blashamma/limelight.jpgI'm not sure if I like this one. Again, one where the idea was way better in my head. The green is a little bit brighter in real life, but the picture didn't come out too bad. I most identify with the small tea cup... or espresso cup or whatever it is. the girl os sort of ugly. I couldn't get the hair right, the eye and lips are too large, and the nose... something's wrong with the nose. I might have to do some drawing of the tea cup. I just like the little cup. | |

My Vest! | [02 Jul 2005|11:02pm] |
---|---|
Here's a picture of the vest I made tonightI wore it over a light-colored shirt so you can see the details, but it looks better over a darker shirt. I know! It doesn't look a whole lot like the inspiration vest, but I think I sort of like it. It's sort of piratey, Renaissancey, gothy, antiquey. That's cool.It started off as a black, long-sleeved, button-up shirt!Oh, and here's the inspiration vest.http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v518/blashamma/vest.jpgAlso, I have some pictures of my final project from art class. I can't believe it took me so long to post pictures of it! I gave it to my sister as a house-warming present though. It's black ink on a poster board.oh yea, warning, there is some nudity.http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v518/blashamma/cf776624.jpgHere's a close-up of the centerhttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v518/blashamma/257deeb4.jpgand here's a close-up of the facehttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v518/blashamma/16a11fe8.jpgOkay, that's it! =D | |

WAND!!! | [28 Jun 2005|12:05am] |
---|---|
Well well folks! Looky what I did! It's a wandand here's a detail of the handleSorry for the really crappy pictures. I'll try to put up better ones later. You like? Guess what! it's for sale!! YAY!I'm thinking ten plus shipping, but it's negotiable. This is the first wand I've ever sold! WEll, the first good quality wand I've ever sold.Honestly, I don't remember what the wood is. I've had the stick for over a year now. I'm thinking maple. It'a hand-carved and wood-burned (well, I used an electric burner!). The inspirations were Victorian wands.I waxed it by hand with bee's wax, and it smells very good! It's buffed and shiny! All that done by hand too! No electric tools for the waxing and buffing! ha ha ha! I also put a bit of white encaustic just to try and highlight the designs.I wrapped three areas in copper wire to separate the designs. They end in little swirly rosettes. If you'r interested, drop me a line! Also, if you have any questions or want to see more pictures, well, all you have to do is ask. =DOH, and I'll also take commissions! I like making wands. Want something completely different than what I have here? Well, just try me! I'll see what I can do. | |

Painting Painting! | [20 Jun 2005|07:18pm] |
---|---|
This is a watercolor I did. I'm really proud of it. I know there are some anatomical problems, and in the scan you can't seem some of the finer details, but I think it came out pretty nice. It's only the third watercolor I have ever done, and it's much better than my last two. I was planning on coloring it. I'm a ltitle afraid I'll screw the whole thing up, so that's why I posted it up here before I colored it in! I also need a background. I'm not sure yet. I was thinking clouds and fish.I might just make it simple gray. Well, let me know what you think!OH yea, here it is.http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v518/blashamma/scan0001.jpg | |

A piece of collage | [11 Jun 2005|07:57pm] |
---|---|
This is what I did yesterday and after the initial struggles I am very satisfied with it. It was based on the thought of experimenting on new things and well, initially I wanted to put seed beads on it, and I did, but after I found out that I couldn't make the beads do what I wishes, their role became smaller. Then I tried on a new calligraphy style and I got the hang of it fairly quick. And the biggest thing I experimented on here is the colour, it doesn't look like anything I normally do! Behind the cut... ( experimentsCollapse ) | |

Just joined:) | [24 May 2005|10:25am] |
---|---|
Hi, I have been trying to find an interesting community for art here in lj and this seems to be a great place for what I took a peek to:) So I decided to join.. I myself am still quite new to arts in general, I started in mail art years ago but it took a long while to really start to realise what were the things that I wanted to make and found closest to my heart. At the moment I am in a middle of a huge block after applying to an art school and not getting in, but looking at other people's art is still fascinating. Well, I am making an art doll, a knitted shirt and some polymer clay fridge magnets at the moment, too, but they are things I promised to make and I am actually not very happy to make them in this low spirits. The last piece that I got finnished was a dreamcatcher where I modified the traditional form a bit. And I think this tells you also hat type of art I make - I have a long background in crafts so I want to combine these two things. If nothing else, my pieces are collages made of tons of different elements. I am slowly trying to get my drawing skills in use too, but oh well, I am not so good. And as a perfectionist I kind of hate not being that good. So, I hope it was ok that I joined:) valeria | |

Let's make a deck! | [06 Jun 2005|12:29am] |
---|---|
You know what I was thinking?! Well, I had an idea that I thought would be really fun, and I know a few people who would probably be interested. Okay, okay, I'd get onto it.If I could gather twelve more people, I thought it'd be fun to make a tarot deck. Like, we could all do six cards for the deck.I think I have it all figured out. What I'll do is first get 12 other people to sign up and agree to do this. Then, I'll write down all of the names of each card and put them in a hat. And one by one, I'll randomly pick six of them for everyone, or if you have six you'd like to do, you can, and it could be a first come first serve thing. Then, when we are all done, each person will scan the images into the computer and e-mail them to all of the other people. Then everyone could print them out, and make thier own cards using everyone's images! I thought it'd be really fun! And it'd be alot easier for a bunch of people to make a deck than it would be for one person to make a deck (I should know!). So, if you're interested, let me know! | |

YAY for pictures!!!!!! When I took the pictures of Mary and showd them to other people, I got offers from people who wanted to be free models! The first was Stephanie. Okay, and here's the really cool part!!!!!! Stephanie offered to pay for all the things I needed now, and I can pay her back when I get the money to! I'm so happy.Well, I'm sure now you're all waiting for the pictures! Here they are! http://photobucket.com/albums/v518/blashamma/stephanie/ You can just press the NEXT button to see them all. The names are there, but some can be really odd to read, and I need to go back and edit the names. There is a funny story to these pictures though. The basis of the backgrounds was when Stephanie got attacked by a plant, we moved to the next one! So eventually I decided not to use plants as the background. And for anyone who has ever taken pictures of a person in the way I have, you know that you take a whole bunch of pictures and only get a few good ones. Well, I took almost 200 hundred!!!! There is one "bad" picture in there that Stephanie said was sooo funny that I had to post it online. 1000 points to the person who can find it!!! ha ha ha! | |

I crafted up new jewelry tonight... Okay, so a couple of the sets I have had for a while now but hadn't gotten a photo of yet. Not that these photos are very good... Damn, crap lighting that I have in my apartment. Anyway most of it is pretty simplistic, in design anyway, but I like them for that reason.( +8Collapse ) | |

Saweet!! | [05 Mar 2005|08:52pm] |
---|---|
First post *waves hi* :DCheck out what I made!! I just finished it this evening. **( I'm so proud of myselfCollapse )**Its 18 guage copper plate. The heart and the rivets in the feet are sterling silver. The spiderwebs are hammered in. The legs are saw lines. The patina was done with Liver of Sulfer, and its not quite the color I had hoped for, so I might buff it off and try it again. Let me know what you think... I like feedback (even if its criticism). | |
