It details the collaborative efforts of community individuals, organizations, and tribes to drag the Alutiiq language back from the brink of extinction. These efforts have been marked by numerous difficulties – dependence on grant funds, overstretching of human capacity, and differences in strategy and direction. Participating organizations and individuals have set a standard for collaboration, even in the most difficult of contexts, which has enabled the community to continue working toward language survival.
