In this study, we aim to understand the clients’ experiences with counselor candidates in Turkiye... more In this study, we aim to understand the clients’ experiences with counselor candidates in Turkiye by examining the meanings that clients attribute to their counseling experiences. Using a qualitative survey, we asked 13 participating clients (2 males, 11 females) questions about meaning attributed to counseling before, during, and after the counseling and their thoughts about the counselor as a candidate and the effects of supervision. A thorough thematic analysis identified four key themes: “the counselor being a counselor candidate,”“before counseling,”“counseling process,” and “counseling outcomes.” The study showed that the clients were unaffected by the fact that their counselor was being supervised. In addition, we also observed that receiving service from a counselor candidate was seen as an advantage rather than a disadvantage, the counselor candidate was perceived as a competent expert, and the outcome of the counseling process was found satisfactory.

The aim of this study was to analyze the relationship between school psychological counselors' se... more The aim of this study was to analyze the relationship between school psychological counselors' secondary traumatic stress and social problem-solving levels. The sample of this research was consisted of 268 school psychological counselors who were working affiliated to Turkey Ministry of National Education in Amasya, İstanbul and Samsun. Secondary Traumatic Stress Scale and Social Problem Solving Inventory were used as data collection tools in this study. As a result of the research, while there were significant positive correlations between participants' the secondary traumatic stress levels and negative problem orientation, impulsive-careless style, avoidance style dimensions of the social problem solving, there were not significant correlations between positive problem orientation and rational problem-solving style of the social problem solving. Another finding of the study, as psychological counselors' level of social problem solving increased, secondary traumatic stress levels were found to decreased. As psychological counselors' levels of negative problem orientation, impulsive-careless style and avoidance styles were increased, secondary traumatic stress levels were found to increased. Finally, while negative problem orientation was found a positive predictor of the school counselors' secondary traumatic stress levels, positive problem orientation, rational problem solving, impulsive-careless style and avoidant style were not significant predictor of the secondary traumatic stress.

Bununla birlikte sorumluluk almama boyutunda herhangi bir etkiye rastlanmamıştır.

ÖZ Araştırma, lise öğrencilerinin duygusal özerklik ve sosyal destek düzeyleri ve bunların alt bo... more ÖZ Araştırma, lise öğrencilerinin duygusal özerklik ve sosyal destek düzeyleri ve bunların alt boyutları arasındaki ilişkiyi değerlendirmek amacıyla yapılmıştır. Araştırmanın örneklemi, İstanbul'un 3 farklı ilçesinden seçilen anadolu ve meslek liselerinin 9., 10., 11. ve 12. sınıflarında öğrenim gören 549 öğrenciden oluşmaktadır. Uygulamada Steinberg ve Silverberg (1986) tarafından geliştirilen Duygusal Özerklik Ölçeği ve Yıldırım (1997) tarafından geliştirilen ve Yıldırım (2004) tarafından revize edilen Algılanan Sosyal Destek Ölçeği kullanılmıştır. Ek olarak araştırmacı tarafından hazırlanan ve demografik değişkenleri içeren soruların yer aldığı "Kişisel Bilgi Formu" kullanılmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda duygusal özerklik ile algılanan sosyal destek arasında pozitif yönlü anlamlı ilişkilere rastlanmıştır. Duygusal özerkliğin alt boyutları ile algılanan sosyal destek alt boyutları arasında pozitif yönlü ilişki bulunmuştur. Demografik verilere dayalı olarak yapılan incelemede, duygusal özerlik ve sosyal destek ölçekleri (ve altboyut) puanlarının okul türüne, cinsiyete, disiplin cezası alıp almamaya göre farklılık gösterdiği bulunmuştur. Ayrıca, duygusal özerklik ve sosyal destek ölçekleri (ve altboyutları) ile yaş ve özürsüz devamsızlık değişkenleri arasında anlamlı ilişkilere rastlanmıştır. This study included a quasi-experimental design with pre and post-test control groups to examine ... more This study included a quasi-experimental design with pre and post-test control groups to examine the effectiveness of the Social Problem-Solving Program (SPSP) on adolescents in institutional care. Data from 12 adolescents in the institutional care of the Turkish Provincial Directorate of Family and Social Policies in Amasya, six of them were in the experimental, and the rest of them were in the control group are presented. The Interpersonal Problem-Solving Inventory (IPSI) was used as a measuring tool. The SPSP was applied in 10 sessions, 90 minutes a day per week. In the analysis to identify the effects of the SPSP, it was found that the experimental group's approach to the problem negatively has decreased significantly, and constructive problem-solving and insistent-persevering approach scores have increased significantly after the program. Nevertheless, there are no effects on a lack of self-confidence and unwillingness to take responsibility. Based on this information, although it is seen that SPSP's social problem-solving of the adolescent in institutional care have significant contributions; it is thought that repeating the research in larger samples may yield more effective results, organizing training to understand and express emotions in the schools where they receive education, and increasing the number of sessions can contribute positively to their social problem-solving skills.

This study explored the mediating role of perceived social support from family and friend in the ... more This study explored the mediating role of perceived social support from family and friend in the relationship between social appearance anxiety and satisfaction with life in adolescents. Determined by simple random sampling method, population consisted of 753 high school students, 443 females (58.8%) and 310 males (41.2%), who were attending high schools affiliated with Amasya Directorate of National Education during the spring semester of the 2018-2019 academic year. Participants' ages ranged from 14 to 19 (mean=15.95, SD=1.01). In the study, the Social Appearance Anxiety Scale, the Satisfaction with Life Scale, and the Family Support and Friend Support subscales of the Perceived Social Support Scale-R were used as data collection tools. According to the Pearson product-moment correlation coefficient analysis, social appearance anxiety had statistically significant negatively correlation with satisfaction with life, family support, and friend support. Perceived support from family and friends had statistically significant positively correlation with satisfaction with life. The regression analysis showed that social appearance anxiety significantly predicted life satisfaction and family and friend support, while family and friend support significantly predicted life satisfaction. Furthermore, the analyses performed with Process Macro Model 4 determined that family support and friend support were mediating variables in the correlation between social appearance anxiety and satisfaction with life.

In line with these developments, this study explored the daily life experiences, thoughts and feelings, support needs, and metaphors about staying home during this time of children aged 11-14 years in Turkey. The phenomenological method, one of the qualitative research designs, was used in the study. Categories and themes were formed from the data obtained through interviews with a total of 14 children, eight male and six female, from different cities in Turkey using an online application during April and May 2020. The themes formed from the children’s statements were “daily life experience during the Corona period”, “thoughts and feelings about staying home”, “support needs” and “metaphors about the pandemic process”. Bu çalışmanın amacı üniversite öğrencilerinde duygusal zekâ ile yaşam doyumu arasındaki ilişkide ... more Bu çalışmanın amacı üniversite öğrencilerinde duygusal zekâ ile yaşam doyumu arasındaki ilişkide yaşamda anlamın aracı rolünü incelemektir. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu basit seçkisiz örnekleme yoluyla 2018-2019 güz döneminde Amasya Üniversitesi Eğitim Fakültesi'nde öğrenim gören % 74.7 (n=295)'i kadın ve % 24.8 (n= 98)'i erkek olan 395 öğrenci oluşturmaktadır. Katılımcıların yaş aralığı 17 ile 34 yaş aralığında olup, yaş ortalamaları 20.62 (S.s: 1.78) 'dir. Araştırmada Schutte v.d. (1998) tarafından geliştirilen Göçet (2006) tarafından Türkçeye uyarlanan "Schutte Duygusal Zekâ Ölçeği", Diener (1984) tarafından geliştirilen ve Köker (1991) tarafından Türkçe'ye uyarlanan "Yaşam Doyumu Ölçeği" ve Steger, Frazier, Oishi ve Kaler (2006) tarafından geliştirilen ve Dursun (2012) tarafından Türkçe' ye uyarlanan "Yaşamın Anlamı Anketi" kullanılmıştır. Araştırmada yapılan istatistiki analizler sonucunda duygusal zekâ ile yaşam doyumu arasındaki ilişkide yaşamda anlamın boyutlarından yaşamda anlamın varlığının tam aracı bir değişken olduğu görülmüştür. Bu sonuçlara göre, duygusal zekâ düzeyi yüksek olan üniversite öğrencilerinin yaşamda anlamın varlığı puanlarının ve yaşam doyumlarının yüksek olduğu ortaya çıkmıştır.

Postmodernizm ve yapılandırmacılık akımları ve değişen bilim anlayışı psikolojik danışma sürecini... more Postmodernizm ve yapılandırmacılık akımları ve değişen bilim anlayışı psikolojik danışma sürecini de etkilemiştir. Çözüm Odaklı Kısa Süreli Psikolojik Danışma ve Öyküsel Psikolojik Danışma postmodernizmin ve yapılandırmacılığın etkileriyle ortaya çıkan ve yaygın olarak kullanılan yaklaşımlardandır. Her iki yaklaşım danışma sürecinin nesnel olarak yürütülebileceği düşüncesine karşı çıkmaktadır. Psikolojik danışma sürecindeki etkileşim gerçekliği yeniden yapılandırmakta hem danışanda hem de psikolojik danışmanda değişim yaratmaktadır. Her iki yaklaşım danışanın deneyiminin öznel olduğu fikrini benimsemektedir. Bu öznel deneyime ilişkin bilgiye sahip olan kişi ise danışandır ve dolayısıyla hayatının uzmanı kendisidir. Aynı zamanda her danışanın deneyimine ilişkin çözümlerinin de öznel olduğu vurgulanmaktadır. Psikolojik danışman ise iyi bir dinleyici konumundadır. Felsefi temelleri ortak olan bu iki yaklaşım belli noktalarda farklılaşmaktadır. Çözüm odaklı kısa süreli psikolojik danışmada danışanın deneyimini anlamak için sorular aktif olarak kullanılmaktadır. Bu yaklaşımda odak çözümlerdir ve çözüme yönelik adımlar ve sorunu azaltan deneyimler incelenmektedir. Dolayısıyla şimdi ve gelecek odaklı bir yaklaşım olduğu söylenebilir. Çözüm odaklı kısa süreli psikolojik danışmada soruların süreç içerisinde yoğun kullanımı söz konusudur. Öyküsel psikolojik danışmada ise sorunun baskın öyküden kaynaklandığı ifade edilmekte ve derinine araştırılmasına odaklanılmaktadır. Psikolojik danışma sürecinde bu öykülerin yeniden yazılmasına çalışılmaktadır. Bu bakımdan şimdi ve geçmiş odaklı bir inceleme içerdiği söylenebilir. Her iki yaklaşımında psikoterapi uygulamalarına kattığı yeni teknikler bulunmaktadır. Bu çalışmada Çözüm Odaklı Kısa Süreli Psikolojik Danışmanlık ve Öyküsel Psikolojik Danışmanlık yaklaşımlarının temelleri, insana bakışı ve temel varsayımları ve psikolojik danışma süreçleri karşılaştırılmıştır. Anahtar Kelimeler: çözüm odaklı kısa süreli psikolojik danışma, öyküsel psikolojik danışma, postmodernizm, yapılandırmacılık, danışan, psikolojik danışman Postmodernism and constructivism movements and changings of scientific understanding have effects on psychological counseling processes, too. Solution-Focused Brief Counseling and Narrative Counseling are approaches that emerged with the effects of postmodernism and constructivism and are widely used. Both approaches oppose the idea that the counseling process can be practiced objectively. The interaction between client and psychological counselor in the counseling process reconstructs reality and creates changings in both the client and the psychological counselor. Both approaches accept the idea that the client's experience is subjective. The person who has knowledge of this subjective experience is the client, therefore the expert of his life is the client, too. In addition, it is emphasized that the solutions for each client's experience are subjective. The psychological counselor has a good listener role. These two approaches based on the same the philosophical basis, differ in some points. Solution-Focused Brief Counseling uses questions actively to understand the client's experience. The focus of the approach is solutions and steps towards solutions and experiences that reduce the problem are examined in this approach. Due to these characteristics, it can be said that it is a present and future-oriented approach. There is an intense use of questions in the process of the Solution-Focused Brief Counseling. In Narrative Counseling, on the other hand, it is stated that the problem arises from the dominant story and focuses on in-depth investigation. These problematic stories are being made to rewrite in counseling process. In this respect, it can be said that it includes a present and past oriented analysis. Both approaches have new techniques that they added to psychotherapy practices. In this study, processive perspectives of the Solution-Focused Brief Counseling and Narrative Counseling approaches, their perspectives on people and assumptions, and counseling processes are discussed.

Bu arastirma Ingilizce ogretmeni adaylarinin uygulanan program sonrasinda yaratici dramaya iliski... more Bu arastirma Ingilizce ogretmeni adaylarinin uygulanan program sonrasinda yaratici dramaya iliskin tutumlarini olcmek ve bir ogretim yontemi olarak yaratici dramaya iliskin dusunce ve degerlendirmelerini belirlemek amaciyla gerceklestirilmistir. Arastirmada olcum araci olarak Yaratici Drama Derslerine Iliskin Tutum Olcegi ve anket formu kullanilmistir. Arastirma sonucunda Ingilizce ogretmeni adaylarinin yaratici drama dersine iliskin tutumlarinin yuksek oldugu ve yaratici drama dersine iliskin tutumun cinsiyete gore farklilastigi bulunmustur. Arastirmanin nitel sonuclarinda ise; ogretmen adaylarinin cogunlugunun daha once yaratici drama deneyimi bulunmadigi ve yaratici dramanin ogretimde bir teknik olarak kullanilabilecegine dair bilgi duzeyinin dusuk oldugu gorulmustur. Ogretmen adaylari yaratici dramayi cocuklara yabanci dil ogretirken ogrencilere, ders surecine ve dersin ciktilarina katkilari nedeniyle kullanmak istemektedir. Ogretmen adaylari uygulanan programdan bir birey olarak cogunlukla pozitif etkilenmis olup, yaratici dramayi bir ogretim yontemi olarak ogretim surecine ve ogrencilere katkilari bakimindan degerlendirmektedir.

This study included a quasi-experimental design with pre and post-test control groups to examine ... more This study included a quasi-experimental design with pre and post-test control groups to examine the effectiveness of the Social Problem-Solving Program (SPSP) on adolescents in institutional care. Data from 12 adolescents in the institutional care of the Turkish Provincial Directorate of Family and Social Policies in Amasya, six of them were in the experimental, and the rest of them were in the control group are presented. The Interpersonal Problem-Solving Inventory (IPSI) was used as a measuring tool. The SPSP was applied in 10 sessions, 90 minutes a day per week. In the analysis to identify the effects of the SPSP, it was found that the experimental group's approach to the problem negatively has decreased significantly, and constructive problem-solving and insistent-persevering approach scores have increased significantly after the program. Nevertheless, there are no effects on a lack of self-confidence and unwillingness to take responsibility. Based on this information, although it is seen that SPSP's social problem-solving of the adolescent in institutional care have significant contributions; it is thought that repeating the research in larger samples may yield more effective results, organizing training to understand and express emotions in the schools where they receive education, and increasing the number of sessions can contribute positively to their social problem-solving skills.

In this study, we aim to understand the clients’ experiences with counselor candidates in Turkiye... more In this study, we aim to understand the clients’ experiences with counselor candidates in Turkiye by examining the meanings that clients attribute to their counseling experiences. Using a qualitative survey, we asked 13 participating clients (2 males, 11 females) questions about meaning attributed to counseling before, during, and after the counseling and their thoughts about the counselor as a candidate and the effects of supervision. A thorough thematic analysis identified four key themes: “the counselor being a counselor candidate,”“before counseling,”“counseling process,” and “counseling outcomes.” The study showed that the clients were unaffected by the fact that their counselor was being supervised. In addition, we also observed that receiving service from a counselor candidate was seen as an advantage rather than a disadvantage, the counselor candidate was perceived as a competent expert, and the outcome of the counseling process was found satisfactory.

This study explored the mediating role of perceived social support from family and friend in the ... more This study explored the mediating role of perceived social support from family and friend in the relationship between social appearance anxiety and satisfaction with life in adolescents. Determined by simple random sampling method, population consisted of 753 high school students, 443 females (58.8%) and 310 males (41.2%), who were attending high schools affiliated with Amasya Directorate of National Education during the spring semester of the 2018-2019 academic year. Participants' ages ranged from 14 to 19 (mean=15.95, SD=1.01). In the study, the Social Appearance Anxiety Scale, the Satisfaction with Life Scale, and the Family Support and Friend Support subscales of the Perceived Social Support Scale-R were used as data collection tools. According to the Pearson product-moment correlation coefficient analysis, social appearance anxiety had statistically significant negatively correlation with satisfaction with life, family support, and friend support. Perceived support from family and friends had statistically significant positively correlation with satisfaction with life. The regression analysis showed that social appearance anxiety significantly predicted life satisfaction and family and friend support, while family and friend support significantly predicted life satisfaction. Furthermore, the analyses performed with Process Macro Model 4 determined that family support and friend support were mediating variables in the correlation between social appearance anxiety and satisfaction with life.

The phenomenological method, one of the qualitative research designs, was used in the study. Categories and themes were formed from the data obtained through interviews with a total of 14 children, eight male and six female, from different cities in Turkey using an online application during April and May 2020. Bu çalışmanın amacı üniversite öğrencilerinde duygusal zekâ ile yaşam doyumu arasındaki ilişkide ... more Bu çalışmanın amacı üniversite öğrencilerinde duygusal zekâ ile yaşam doyumu arasındaki ilişkide yaşamda anlamın aracı rolünü incelemektir. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu basit seçkisiz örnekleme yoluyla 2018-2019 güz döneminde Amasya Üniversitesi Eğitim Fakültesi'nde öğrenim gören % 74.7 (n=295)'i kadın ve % 24.8 (n= 98)'i erkek olan 395 öğrenci oluşturmaktadır. Katılımcıların yaş aralığı 17 ile 34 yaş aralığında olup, yaş ortalamaları 20.62 (S.s: 1.78) 'dir. Araştırmada Schutte v.d. (1998) tarafından geliştirilen Göçet (2006) tarafından Türkçeye uyarlanan "Schutte Duygusal Zekâ Ölçeği", Diener (1984) tarafından geliştirilen ve Köker (1991) tarafından Türkçe'ye uyarlanan "Yaşam Doyumu Ölçeği" ve Steger, Frazier, Oishi ve Kaler (2006) tarafından geliştirilen ve Dursun (2012) tarafından Türkçe' ye uyarlanan "Yaşamın Anlamı Anketi" kullanılmıştır. Araştırmada yapılan istatistiki analizler sonucunda duygusal zekâ ile yaşam doyumu arasındaki ilişkide yaşamda anlamın boyutlarından yaşamda anlamın varlığının tam aracı bir değişken olduğu görülmüştür. Bu sonuçlara göre, duygusal zekâ düzeyi yüksek olan üniversite öğrencilerinin yaşamda anlamın varlığı puanlarının ve yaşam doyumlarının yüksek olduğu ortaya çıkmıştır.

Çözüm Odaklı Kısa Süreli Psikolojik Danışma ve Öyküsel Psikolojik Danışma postmodernizmin ve yapılandırmacılığın etkileriyle ortaya çıkan ve yaygın olarak kullanılan yaklaşımlardandır. Her iki yaklaşım danışma sürecinin nesnel olarak yürütülebileceği düşüncesine karşı çıkmaktadır. Psikolojik danışma sürecindeki etkileşim gerçekliği yeniden yapılandırmakta hem danışanda hem de psikolojik danışmanda değişim yaratmaktadır. Her iki yaklaşım danışanın deneyiminin öznel olduğu fikrini benimsemektedir. Bu öznel deneyime ilişkin bilgiye sahip olan kişi ise danışandır ve dolayısıyla hayatının uzmanı kendisidir. Aynı zamanda her danışanın deneyimine ilişkin çözümlerinin de öznel olduğu vurgulanmaktadır. Psikolojik danışman ise iyi bir dinleyici konumundadır. Felsefi temelleri ortak olan bu iki yaklaşım belli noktalarda farklılaşmaktadır. Çözüm odaklı kısa süreli psikolojik danışmada danışanın deneyimini anlamak için sorular aktif olarak kullanılmaktadır. Bu yaklaşımda odak çözümlerdir ve çözüme yönelik adımlar ve sorunu azaltan deneyimler incelenmektedir. Dolayısıyla şimdi ve gelecek odaklı bir yaklaşım olduğu söylenebilir. Çözüm odaklı kısa süreli psikolojik danışmada soruların süreç içerisinde yoğun kullanımı söz konusudur. Öyküsel psikolojik danışmada ise sorunun baskın öyküden kaynaklandığı ifade edilmekte ve derinine araştırılmasına odaklanılmaktadır. Psikolojik danışma sürecinde bu öykülerin yeniden yazılmasına çalışılmaktadır. Bu bakımdan şimdi ve geçmiş odaklı bir inceleme içerdiği söylenebilir. Her iki yaklaşımında psikoterapi uygulamalarına kattığı yeni teknikler bulunmaktadır. Bu çalışmada Çözüm Odaklı Kısa Süreli Psikolojik Danışmanlık ve Öyküsel Psikolojik Danışmanlık yaklaşımlarının temelleri, insana bakışı ve temel varsayımları ve psikolojik danışma süreçleri karşılaştırılmıştır. Solution-Focused Brief Counseling and Narrative Counseling are approaches that emerged with the effects of postmodernism and constructivism and are widely used. Both approaches oppose the idea that the counseling process can be practiced objectively. The interaction between client and psychological counselor in the counseling process reconstructs reality and creates changings in both the client and the psychological counselor. Both approaches accept the idea that the client's experience is subjective. The person who has knowledge of this subjective experience is the client, therefore the expert of his life is the client, too. In addition, it is emphasized that the solutions for each client's experience are subjective. The psychological counselor has a good listener role. These two approaches based on the same the philosophical basis, differ in some points. Solution-Focused Brief Counseling uses questions actively to understand the client's experience. The focus of the approach is solutions and steps towards solutions and experiences that reduce the problem are examined in this approach. Due to these characteristics, it can be said that it is a present and future-oriented approach. There is an intense use of questions in the process of the Solution-Focused Brief Counseling. In Narrative Counseling, on the other hand, it is stated that the problem arises from the dominant story and focuses on in-depth investigation. These problematic stories are being made to rewrite in counseling process. In this respect, it can be said that it includes a present and past oriented analysis. Both approaches have new techniques that they added to psychotherapy practices. In this study, processive perspectives of the Solution-Focused Brief Counseling and Narrative Counseling approaches, their perspectives on people and assumptions, and counseling processes are discussed.

Arastirmada olcum araci olarak Yaratici Drama Derslerine Iliskin Tutum Olcegi ve anket formu kullanilmistir. Arastirma sonucunda Ingilizce ogretmeni adaylarinin yaratici drama dersine iliskin tutumlarinin yuksek oldugu ve yaratici drama dersine iliskin tutumun cinsiyete gore farklilastigi bulunmustur. Arastirmanin nitel sonuclarinda ise; ogretmen adaylarinin cogunlugunun daha once yaratici drama deneyimi bulunmadigi ve yaratici dramanin ogretimde bir teknik olarak kullanilabilecegine dair bilgi duzeyinin dusuk oldugu gorulmustur. Ogretmen adaylari yaratici dramayi cocuklara yabanci dil ogretirken ogrencilere, ders surecine ve dersin ciktilarina katkilari nedeniyle kullanmak istemektedir. Ogretmen adaylari uygulanan programdan bir birey olarak cogunlukla pozitif etkilenmis olup, yaratici dramayi bir ogretim yontemi olarak ogretim surecine ve ogrencilere katkilari bakimindan degerlendirmektedir.
