| | Whee! Hi guys! I have been absent of late (I'm blaming it on the lenten. Hee. Not lentils. Lenten, with the...nevermind). Things have been fairly...benign with a stroke of meh dashing through there. Until this weekend. This weekend everything became teh HAWESOME (Shout outs to Xehra for that one. It has become part of my everyday lexicon. A little embarrassing to the degree of 'walking interwebs dweeb: kick her!' but whatever. I embrace my inner and outer nerd).I was water baptised on Saturday. The hottest day of the Summer (Isn't it supposed to be Autumn already?). It was soo lovely and amazing! We centred around W.B. at Generate on Friday night and then gave the big offer for the following day but in the end it was only myself, Chantelle and Kimmy that followed through and we've been planning for months, so...Oh well. It was awesome that way too. So all of us went to Pastor Wayne and Kathy's house and received the grand dunking. My Mum and Dad came, Jack came! Yay! (These are my non-Christian family and friends who came to my baptism. It was so lovely to have them there with my Christian family.) And I was pushed under the water and came up and couldn't stop smiling. The whole symbol of dying to self? Was completely what I needed to undergo. I had fallen so far from God in the last few months and I didn't even see it until it was so far along that I felt helpless to crawl back. God is so good!And then Wayne asked Chantelle and I to give our testimonies last night at church. Just about our walks with God and the baptism thing and just...talk. Oh. My. Word. It was so FUN. It is the second time I've spoken at church (I spoke a couple of weeks ago at youth. Hmm. I reaaaally need to update our myspace blog.) and it was...cool. It was so fun and really interesting to speak to people and have them looking back at you when you look out at the group at them! I was hardly nervous and I didn't cry (I promised I wouldn't because Chantelle was so likely to but then by some stroke of miracle she didn't cry which is very unusual and I almost did.) and Wayne asked me if I would speak again sometime if he asked me. Heck yes! It was so awesome to have this way to express my love for Jesus and feel like God was using me to reach out to his children.I also got an email from Sheldon College. The position I applied for is in the Events Management and Marketing sector as an assistant and I really feel like I am supposed to be there at this stage in my life. I attended their Senior induction ceremony the week before last and Oh. It was so polished and genuine and lovely. I want every kid I've ever met to go there. I want to go there! And I would truly love to be able to see if I could wrangle some violin lessons out of their full time, specialised music dept. (Private schools rock, man.) So I have another appointment to go in and see Kim tomorrow morning. It's funny, I picked up the phone not ten minutes ago to call and arrange an appointment and I was quite nervous until I looked at the number I was to call. The last four digits are the same arrangement of numbers that I have just changed my password for everything to. The numbers are the address of a particular scripture in the Psalms! So excellently ironic considering the fact that I think they are worried about considering me for the job because of the scale of my commitment to church and the time that this entails. I can't wait for them to ask me if this is the case because I've been working on a rock-out answer for a week and a half!...And also, it has been confirmation that if God does not want me to be there, I won't get the job because of my commitment to Him!Tags:baptism, church, preaching, testimony, workLocation:mum's pc...again, oopsMusic:Mars Hill Church Sermon Series: Nehemiah I have an interview! God is so good. He knows just what we all need in our lives and provides for us. It is lovely. In the end, I've ended up staying at KMF Rochedale (I was 'fired' from the Cleveland store...pretty much.) and the whole was just so silly! Which means that now I have a great opportunity to get myself into gear and begin to think more seriously about my future, career wise. Well, at least 'out of hospitality'-wise!I visited a new church this evening. It was interesting. Not for me in the end but super fantastic for this girl I work with. She isn't a Christian but a lot of her Islander friends (She has a Maori heritage) are involved with this ministry and the culture really intrigues her.Personally... I'm not sure what God is preparing me for. Where are you taking me?The journey is interesting... especially since my Mum and Dad have said that they will come to my church picnic next Sunday. I am so nervous about it. (They aren't Christians so this is a big deal to me). I'm organising the games with this awesome guy from church.
