Welcome! Posting Guidelines and Rules
I have been a part of many tattoo communities and very few of them ever showcased real “works of art”. I’d see a nice Starry Night here and there, but that was it. The problem for me was that I found loads of art tattoos all over the internet. They needed to be shown, somewhere, somehow, in some way. Thus, I gave birth to this community in hopes that maybe a few other people shared my thoughts. The concept is simple: Many people who want to get a work of art tattooed on their body forever, are looking for an exact replica. Many may see positive results, and maybe may not. Either way, it's interesting to see how famous paintings and the like transfer onto skin! Please read all of the following, as it is there for a reason.Click here to join! --- Place the artist’s name and the title of the piece in the subject line. Example: Andy Warhol’s Campbell’s Tomato Soup; Campbell’s Tomato Soup- Andy Warhol; Andy Warhol- Campbell’s Tomato Soup. (You can’t go wrong here. Just don’t forget.) --- Keep the original piece on the OUTSIDE of an lj cut, unless it is an abnormally large picture. (If you have to, upload it to photobucket and decrease the size a bit.) Place the picture of the tattoo behind an lj cut. This is extremely important. In doing so, it adds an element of surprise. (Will it be good? Or will it be bad?)--- Numerous tattoos can be posted in one entry. Just be sure to keep each of the original pieces outside of the lj cut.--- Don’t be afraid to post your own tattoos. Be prepared, however, for any criticism that might come your way. --- For the sake of comparison, post a picture of the original painting/drawing/whathaveyou. If you do not do so, your post will not be put through. --- Because many artists are not as well known as say, Van Gogh or Picasso, or perhaps impressionism just isn’t your thing, feel free to post tattoos of art by less famous or “obscure” artists. If possible, post a link of said artist’s website or gallery. --- Both beautiful AND horrendous tattoos are welcome. It’s awesome to see tattoos that are exact replicas of paintings, but I think we can all appreciate a good lol every now and then.--- Criticize the tattoo itself, not the poster, ESPECIALLY if it’s their own tattoo. I know, I know, they had the balls to post it themselves, they should be prepared for what comes at them… but have a little respect. --- Be sure to indicate whether or not the painting is not safe for work (NSFW). Examples of such pieces would be paintings containing images of the male and female reproductive organs, including breasts, or by any chance at all, vulgar language such a fuck, bitch, shit, etc. ***In this case, all pictures would go behind an lj cut.***
