Guide to Live Music in the Twin Cities [Dec. 30th, 2006|02:39 pm]Augsbizzle Collegizzle
Hello, I'm the author of a journal called tccheapconcerts. Each week I go out in search of cheap live music in the Twin Cities area. I specialize in bands that charge less than 15toperformandofferatleastonemp3onlinesothatyoucantrybeforeyoubuy.I′vebuiltanextensivedatabaseofnearlyathousandbandsoverthelastthreemonths.Inotonlyprovidemyreaderswithweblinkstohearwhatbandssoundlike,butalsowhattheirlastvenuechargedtohearthem.Isitworthpaying15 to perform and offer at least one mp3 on line so that you can try before you buy.I've built an extensive database of nearly a thousand bands over the last three months. I not only provide my readers with web links to hear what bands sound like, but also what their last venue charged to hear them. Is it worth paying 15toperformandofferatleastonemp3onlinesothatyoucantrybeforeyoubuy.I′vebuiltanextensivedatabaseofnearlyathousandbandsoverthelastthreemonths.Inotonlyprovidemyreaderswithweblinkstohearwhatbandssoundlike,butalsowhattheirlastvenuechargedtohearthem.Isitworthpaying10 to crowd into a concert space when you could wait a day and hear the band play for free at smaller and more personal venue? My readers are alerted when it is their last chance to hear their favorite band live before the the band packs up to go out of town for an lengthy tour.Though gathering this kind of data requires lots of internet research, I don't spend every day in front of the computer. The whole point of the excersise is to go hear live music! So a few times each month I grab my digital camera (I just happen to be a semi-professional photographer) and follow my own advice to get out and go see a band play. Afterward I post the shots I've taken with a little description of the event. I don't review the band's performance (I am not a music critic, and don't want to be. Listen to the mp3's I provide and make up your own mind), but I will let you know of my opinion of the suitability of the performance space for listening to music, the quality of the sound system and anything else that adds or detracts from the experience. So far I've got 22 regular readers friended. Please join us.

Heyyy beautiful people of Minneapolis!I am going to be going to Augsburg in the fall as a transfer from Seattle Pacific University, and I am beyond stoked to finally get there. To my knowledge, I will be living in Mortensen, but they haven't sent anything about a roommate, room number, meal plans, etc..all that jazz and whatnot. Maybe I'm just impatient, but do any of you know when I'll recieve that information? I just registered for classes two weeks ago, too. I'm so excited to make the move! Anything you all want to tell me/warn me about Augsburg would be MORE than appreciated. Thanks guys!♥Sarah

Bad Professors [Oct. 17th, 2005|11:07 pm]Augsbizzle Collegizzle
Never had John McCaffrey- but let's make a list of bad professors- tell your reasons whyBev Stratton- took Bib Studies with her & had to drop it- she had ridiculous expectations for a lower-level class. Ended up taking it from Hans Wiersma last year instead, he was greatKathy Swanson- English prof- haven't had her- but my friends say she is totally unreasonableMost of the profs I've had have been pretty good though.

Has anyone else had any bad experiences with John McCaffrey? I'm ready to drop his class right now, he's being such a jerk.

Isn't the Mus. Dept. simply freaking marvelous this summer? :) [Sep. 2nd, 2005|08:40 am]Augsbizzle Collegizzle
[**mood** |bitchybitchy]Augsburg's just fucking awesome.I received this email just now: Alia, MUS 357 has been moved to the T/R 8AM time block by the Music Dept. This conflicts with your HPE 115A class and thus you have been removed fromthe MUS 357 class. Please review your current Fall schedule and process anychanges at the Enrollment Center. If you desire to enter a closed class youwill need the permission of the instructor. If you have any questions onthe change in time for the MUS 357 class, you will need to contact the MusicDept directly.Wayne KallestadRegistrarWow. It would be really nice to having a freaking SAY in what class I'm taken out of BEFORE they actually do it! I wrote back, saying: I am removing myself from the HPE class, and I did not want to remove myselffrom the MUS 357 class because that is only offered once every two years in the fall. The reason I did not do this sooner is that I was waiting to hear from the HPE course instructor to find out whether THAT class is offered more often or not.Is there a way you can put me back into MUS 357? I wish I'd had a say inthis before I was removed.Thank youSincerely, Alia ScheirmanAnd I got this reply:Add it back in when you drop the other class at the Enrollment Center. These actions are the result of the Music Dept changes.Wayne KallestadRegistrar It's not because of the Registrar that I'm pissed. I HAD NO FUCKING RESPONSE from the Music Dept. AT ALL, and they just have me removed from the class without even telling me!Warning to all prospective music students:They can be extremely bad at communication!

[**mood** |geekygeeky]Am looking forward to moving in, but would like more details. What does a two person apartment come with? Generally, what does it look like? If anyone could help me out with that, it would be fanstasterific :)

Prospective Student [Aug. 5th, 2005|02:11 pm]Augsbizzle Collegizzle
Hey everyone! I am possibly a future student at Augsburg, and I was just wondering what are your likes and dislikes about the school? How's the food? Is the campus as pretty as the website makes it? Thanks.
