Islam is an Arabic word meaning Submission. Therefore a Muslim is a Submitter. The rites of Islam were brought down by Abraham. Abraham also built Kabaa in Mecca and named this religion Islam (22:78). Before this happened, believing in God and leading righteous life was sufficient for salvation. Today since God is Fair who stipulated the religion for us the way He has done that is that some messengers like Noah who came before Abraham needed only believe in God to be Submitters, God has allowed todays believers to believe in such a way as a minimum requirement for Salvation (5:69).

I am Asian I only read the first translation when I was married at the age of 29, before that like all of us learnt Arabic Quran without understanding most of the Quran except few Arabic words. It is an absolute shame that in Birmingham UK none of the Musjids I visited including the biggest and oldest mosque in High Gate had a single copy of the translated Quran. This is total travesty and shame on the Scholars because what happens is the independent thought process is shut down by the imams who tell the pupil what the Quran say

After 35 years of Quran research one thing is clear that Quran is a dynamic book because of the ... more After 35 years of Quran research one thing is clear that Quran is a dynamic book because of the great depth of Arabic language with words having more than one meanings Quran catered for at the time of the prophet as it does now for the Quran reader.

I am Asian I only read the first translation when I was married at the age of 29, before that like all of us learnt Arabic Quran without understanding most of the Quran except few Arabic words.

It is an absolute shame that in Birmingham UK none of the Musjids I visited including the biggest and oldest mosque in High Gate had a single copy of the translated Quran.

This is total travesty and shame on the Scholars because what happens is the independent thought process is shut down by the imams who tell the pupil what the Quran say
