Nowdays, in the age of technology, the rethinking of education takes place where the new ICT and mobile communication determined (based) learning environment gives a chance to reshape methodologies of the higher education. Interdisciplinary approaches are increasingly acknowledged; however, we should note that fast changing methodology results in the continuous restructuring of educational content. As learning recently expanded into a worldwide classroom these developments may be foreseen as a new potentials way to activate students in terms of moving from the traditional curricula focusing on quantity to a new a contribution based approach.

Development at BME" that took place between 2013-2015. It aimed at developing content, methodologies and
services related to the competitiveness of higher education, structural changes coming from the Bologna
Process and meeting the challenges of knowledge-based economies. The relevant fields included updating
presentation techniques and instructional methodology. These areas were particularly important from the
viewpoint of the topic. We intended to present that visual learning may provide opportunities to use parables
that are able to improve the efficiency of human learning. This learning process is currently based on
traditional verbal communication and as such hindered by time constraints and information pressure.
Developing curricula presented challenges in the fields of digitizing, multimedia editing and on-line publishing.
Meta-data structure, SCORM conversion and formats matching the relevant criteria were defined as required
by e-learning. Empirical analysis was performed on the use and efficiency of the new SCORM learning
materials. Thus, the results of the research pointed out a number of good practices. These can be used as
"working" innovative solutions that take into account and adapt to the learning habits, attitudes, new student
roles. These solutions also adapt to the expectations of the higher education students.

structure. One of the important characteristic of international education development that focuses on
content and methodology is development of open structured curriculum. This requires constructive
cooperation. Additional feature is the ensuring the access to masses by effective on-line interfaces.
Although in this area higher education is a leading player (MOOC), but a significant number of
students attending vocational schools, the wide span of different professions, and increasing age of
the participants is asking for adaptation of this methodology.

buzzword of atypical modes of learning. The changed learning environment related to these modes of learning
can be characterized by the powerful support of ICT.
In our present fast-transforming world the new layers of the information society are forming in the environment
of the most uptodate tools, consequently these layers can be called digital natives. They are familiar with IPTV,
intelligent mobile phones and homes, 3D TV, IPv6 network, thin client terminals, social networks (facebook,
twitter, hi5, linkedln) and the web 3.0 protocolls.
The paper gives an insight into the world of new learning theories characterized by technical integration,
networking, realizing knowledge construction instead of knowledge transfer. The author focuses ont he
connectivist characteristics based ont he most prevailing technology-based learning as a consequence of his
practical experience acquired in higher education, where learning occurs in a social environment by means of
the interactions (cooperation, collaboration) of networked learning communities.

computer, which was introduced approximately two, two
and a half years ago. It runs the MAC operating system
making it suitable for different general and special uses. The
paper focuses on the fact how the use of iPads can help
education, make teaching and learning more efficient. In
addition to the technical, infrastructural parameters, which
are essential as much as the user’s experience and it usability
are concerned, the paper provides a few concrete applications
as well. Today, the use of iPads is general either in
everyday life, or in public education or tertiary education.
The author analysis his experiences from the viewpoint of
students, but also mentions applications useful for teachers.
Students can use iPads with the appropriate applications in
any stage of the learning process, e.g. using notes, course
materials, schedules and assignments, cooperation, group
assignments by collaboration. The paper also describes such
solutions or respectively suggestions by means of which the
monitoring of shared content and data can be realized by
the teacher. A few professional applications (e.g. used by
students of medicine, engineering and natural sciences) are
also listed.

Our approach to learning in particular is changed by digital tools. Our thinking process and learning methods are subject to development. This paper, while making references to this development, analyses the interactions between typical and atypical learning, in other words, formal and informal learning. It also explains the most important characteristics of the new education paradigm, which we symbolically call „Version 2.0” when addressing the new generation. When analysing these changes, we should review and interpret the most important participants and their roles (students and the teachers supporting them), old routines and future expectations and the new ICT solutions and their increasing role in supporting learning.
The development of information and communication technology (ICT) and e-learning forms is defined... more The development of information and communication technology (ICT) and e-learning forms is defined both by
ubiquitous computing and the technical-social attributes of virtual learning space. This space can be characterized
as organic learning environment, while its educational theory is based on e-learning. It gives multiple
opportunities to exploit the dimensions of time and space, providing both asynchronous and synchronous learning
forms. In 2012, Budapest University of Technology and Economics’s (BME), Faculty of Natural Sciences, the
teachers working at institutes of mathematics and physics created the BME Alfa online practice surface. This
initiative was intended to help the students prepare for entry tests required to be taken by some departments. Only
after they have passed the tests, the students would be able to enroll to desired majors. Thus, the students were
able to participate in the creation and management of the e-learning environment in question. This paper will give
an account of the process how the questions were prepared and uploaded. Later, it will examine the usability of
the system and the scope of ICT used. Through the presentation of the BME Alfa functions, the characteristics of
the modular object-oriented dynamic learning environment (Moodle) system can be acknowledged as well. Both
the courses of mathematics and physics departments will be introduced. The main function of the e-learning
environment is the downloadable curriculum, topic orientated tests, forums, chat, and a mock examination. The
paper will then go on to usability issues of the environment and an online survey conducted among students. In
spite of the small percentage of students surveyed because of a lack of time (only 30 out of 300), we can state that
the received results were worth analyzing. Finally, according to the analysis and conclusions, future development
plans and guidelines are presented.

recently. At the same time, students’ roles and their

ICT-based methodic opportunities and technical supports
that are inherited in electronic learning environment into
focus in this study, considering the solutions employed for
the conveying, practising and controlling of new

systems, which seem to be reformed on a daily basis, besides
educational and teaching functions, one should pay
increasing attention to the results of students and graduates.
The reason is that this determines the opportunities they
will have to continue their studies or their chances of
establishing themselves in a job. The results obtained are
naturally not only issue in the learning environment or

numerous different factors like learning habits, ways of
