Strain development Developed by Graduate School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Nagoya City University and Genome Information Research Center, Osaka University in 2006. A neomycin selection cassette was inserted into the exon 4 of the Fad158 gene. C57BL/6J background.
Strain description Fad158 (Lrrc8c) knockout mice. Homozygous mutant mice do not show body weight gain and insulin resistance by a high-fat diet.
