The research was conducted to determine the bending capacity of high-strength reinforced concrete... more The research was conducted to determine the bending capacity of high-strength reinforced concrete beams with the addition of three environmentally friendly synthetic fibers i.e., polypropylene fiber, tie wire fiber, and used rubber tires fiber. Four beams with a dimension of 15 x 30 x 220 cm were tested, including a beam for specimen without fiber as comparison. Specimens were designed to experience bending failure. Yield point of steel (fy) used for flexural and shear reinforcement was 407.43 MPa. The diameter of flexural tensile reinforcement was 15.8 mm, 11.9 mm for the compressive reinforcement, as well as 11.9 mm for the shear reinforcement. Concrete proportion incorporated 8% silica fume and 1.5% polycarboxylate ethers based superplasticizer ViscoCrete 10 from the cement weight. The maximum diameter of split was 15.9 mm, having 550 kg/m3 cement content and w/cratio 0.30. The target compressive strength was 70 MPa for cylinder 15/30 cm. The results showed that all beams experienced flexural failure as planned. Addition of fibers enhanced the bending behavior significantly, especially in flexural capacity, deflection and ductility. In comparison with high-strength reinforced concrete beam without fibers, the beam with polypropylene fiber had the increase of flexural strength of 115.24%, deflection of 306.56% and ductility of 298.9%; with tie wire fibers resulted in the increase of flexural strength of 117.39%, deflection of 160.52% and ductility of 148.0%; as well as with used rubber tires fiber produced the enhance of flexural strength of 112.13%, deflection of 184.56% and ductility of 178.3%. It can be concluded that the use of such environmentally friendly synthetic fibers can reduce the brittleness of high strength concrete, in which polypropylene fiber had delivered the best value and can be used very effectively than the other two types of fibers.

Inong Balee Fort is one of the Islamic Kingdom of Aceh heritage built-in 1599 by Admiral Malahaya... more Inong Balee Fort is one of the Islamic Kingdom of Aceh heritage built-in 1599 by Admiral Malahayati but several parts of the fortress wall have currently been damaged and the stone removed. Indonesian Government plans to restore the fort and this makes it necessary to examine the characteristics of the fortress mortar with a focus on the chemical composition and mineralogical elements. Therefore, mortar powder samples obtained from the fort walls were tested through X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) and the results showed the main composition of mortar is CaCO 3 and SiO 2 from a mixture of lime and sand while the others are P 2 O 5 , MgCO 3 , and Al 2 O 3. Meanwhile, two mortar mixtures including 1 lime: 2 sand and 1 cement: 2 lime: 3 sand were designed for restoration purposes and they were both found by the XRD analysis results to have a diffraction pattern similar to Inong Balee Fort mortar. However, mortar with 1 lime: 2 sand has a very low compressive strength subsequently it does not meet the specifications of the SNI 6882:2014 and ASTM C270-19a while mortar with 1 cement: 2 lime: 3 sand has a compressive strength which meets the specifications. Therefore, a mortar with 1 cement: 2 lime: 3 sand is recommended to be used for the restoration of Inong Balee Fort.

The use of polypropylene fibers could prevent structure explosion by forming canals due to melted fibers during fire, thus release its thermal stress. This study aims to determine the effect of polypropylene fibers on compressive strength of high-strength concrete after combustion at 400ºC for five hours. High-strength concrete was made by w/c-ratio 0.3 with cement amount 550 kg/m3 and added with silica fume 8% and superplasticizer 4% by cement weight. The variations of polypropylene fibers were 0%, 0.2% and 0.4% of concrete volume. The compression test was carried out on standard cylinders Ø15/30 cm of combustion and without combustion specimens at 7 and 28 days. The need for concrete as construction material is continuously increasing, 60% of the world's civil-engineering infrastructures are made of concrete. The aim of this study was to determine the effect of using extreme water temperature as mixed water in concrete on concrete splitting tensile strength added by accelerator and retarder. Water used is hot water (100°C), cold water (10°C), and normal temperature water (23°C). Accelerator and retarder used are 0%; 0 ,25%; 0,50% and 0,75% by cement weight. Concrete was made with FAS 0,35; 0,40; and 0,45.Tensile strength testing using a 15/30 cm concrete cylinder totaling 135 specimens, varied in FAS and percentage of admixture (accelerator and retarder), each variation has 5 specimens and tested at 28 days. The results showed that concrete using extreme temperature of mixed water using accelerator and retarder could affect concrete tensile strength compared to normal concrete without using admixture. In concrete mixture using cold water, an increase in tensile strength occurred at FAS 0,35; 0,40; and 0,45 with addition of 0,25% accelerator, which was 0,41%; 0,43% and 2,3% compared to using normal water temperature without accelerator addition. For hot water mixture, an increase in tensile strength at FAS 0,35; 0,40; and 0,45 with using 0,25% retarder, which was 4,49%; 6,04%; and 2,76% compared to concrete using normal water temperature without retarder addition.

This problem can implicate on the additional construction cost with different trends as a specific model. A model can provide valuable information to project acceleration judgement. This research aims to develop the TCTO sub-activity model of formwork, rebar work, and concrete work of the building structural beam on the projects in the North Aceh region. We have collected 33 data sourced from the project cost plan report and respondents judgment in the reviewed area. Descriptive statistics and the regression analysis are used to generate the TCTO model. The results show that the activity duration of the structural beam as broken down into sub-activities of formwork, rebar work and concrete work can be compressed until reaching 40%, 50%, and 40% of its normal duration, respectively. Dalam pembangunan gedung bertingkat tinggi serta infrastruktur lainnya yang bersifat massal dibutuhkan beton dengan kekuatan tinggi, beton mutu tinggi adalah pilihan yang tepat. Beton mutu tinggi yang tercantum pada SNI 03-6468-2000 didefinisikan sebagai beton yang mempunyai kuat tekan yang disyaratkan lebih besar sama dengan 41,4 MPa. Untuk memperoleh beton mutu tinggi hal yang perlu dilakukan adalah meningkatkan mutu material pembentuknya. Peningkatan mutu beton dapat dilakukan dengan penambahan atau mensubstitusikan bahan lain (additive) kedalam campuran beton. A Project Estimator cannot claim that his/her estimated duration is better than others. They can ... more A Project Estimator cannot claim that his/her estimated duration is better than others. They can determine the reasonable duration based on deterministic and probabilistic factors affecting the duration and then specify how to achieve it. This condition provides an overview that the activity duration changeable stochastically as a result of uncertainty-factors. However, we have a presumption that the activities duration will be normally distributed based on variation of its production rate per day (PRPD). The purpose of this study are (i) estimating the normal duration of the project activities using PRPD; and (ii) conducting the hypothesis testing for the PRPD normality of the project activities in South of Aceh. Hypothesis testing toward six-activities from 50 projects in South of Aceh will be used to achieve research objectives. Result shows PRPD normally distributed with skewness value still falling inside tolerance range of-1/+1. We argue that the normal duration of activity can be estimated more quickly involving its normal PRPD. An estimator does not need to predict what the factors affecting the duration estimation, especially in the bidding/tender process. They only need the normal PRPD as a standard value, to estimate, to assess and to verify the normality level of actual duration for the purpose of project decision.

The research was conducted to determine the bending capacity of high-strength reinforced concrete... more The research was conducted to determine the bending capacity of high-strength reinforced concrete beams with the addition of three environmentally friendly synthetic fibers i.e., polypropylene fiber, tie wire fiber, and used rubber tires fiber. Four beams with a dimension of 15 x 30 x 220 cm were tested, including a beam for specimen without fiber as comparison. Specimens were designed to experience bending failure. Yield point of steel (fy) used for flexural and shear reinforcement was 407.43 MPa. The diameter of flexural tensile reinforcement was 15.8 mm, 11.9 mm for the compressive reinforcement, as well as 11.9 mm for the shear reinforcement. Concrete proportion incorporated 8% silica fume and 1.5% polycarboxylate ethers based superplasticizer ViscoCrete 10 from the cement weight. The maximum diameter of split was 15.9 mm, having 550 kg/m3 cement content and w/cratio 0.30. The target compressive strength was 70 MPa for cylinder 15/30 cm. The results showed that all beams experienced flexural failure as planned. Addition of fibers enhanced the bending behavior significantly, especially in flexural capacity, deflection and ductility. In comparison with high-strength reinforced concrete beam without fibers, the beam with polypropylene fiber had the increase of flexural strength of 115.24%, deflection of 306.56% and ductility of 298.9%; with tie wire fibers resulted in the increase of flexural strength of 117.39%, deflection of 160.52% and ductility of 148.0%; as well as with used rubber tires fiber produced the enhance of flexural strength of 112.13%, deflection of 184.56% and ductility of 178.3%. It can be concluded that the use of such environmentally friendly synthetic fibers can reduce the brittleness of high strength concrete, in which polypropylene fiber had delivered the best value and can be used very effectively than the other two types of fibers.

Inong Balee Fort is one of the Islamic Kingdom of Aceh heritage built-in 1599 by Admiral Malahaya... more Inong Balee Fort is one of the Islamic Kingdom of Aceh heritage built-in 1599 by Admiral Malahayati but several parts of the fortress wall have currently been damaged and the stone removed. Indonesian Government plans to restore the fort and this makes it necessary to examine the characteristics of the fortress mortar with a focus on the chemical composition and mineralogical elements. Therefore, mortar powder samples obtained from the fort walls were tested through X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) and the results showed the main composition of mortar is CaCO 3 and SiO 2 from a mixture of lime and sand while the others are P 2 O 5 , MgCO 3 , and Al 2 O 3. Meanwhile, two mortar mixtures including 1 lime: 2 sand and 1 cement: 2 lime: 3 sand were designed for restoration purposes and they were both found by the XRD analysis results to have a diffraction pattern similar to Inong Balee Fort mortar. However, mortar with 1 lime: 2 sand has a very low compressive strength subsequently it does not meet the specifications of the SNI 6882:2014 and ASTM C270-19a while mortar with 1 cement: 2 lime: 3 sand has a compressive strength which meets the specifications. Therefore, a mortar with 1 cement: 2 lime: 3 sand is recommended to be used for the restoration of Inong Balee Fort.

This study aims to determine the effect of polypropylene fibers on compressive strength of high-strength concrete after combustion at 400ºC for five hours. High-strength concrete was made by w/c-ratio 0.3 with cement amount 550 kg/m3 and added with silica fume 8% and superplasticizer 4% by cement weight. The variations of polypropylene fibers were 0%, 0.2% and 0.4% of concrete volume. The compression test was carried out on standard cylinders Ø15/30 cm of combustion and without combustion specimens at 7 and 28 days. The need for concrete as construction material is continuously increasing, 60% of the world's civil-engineering infrastructures are made of concrete. The aim of this study was to determine the effect of using extreme water temperature as mixed water in concrete on concrete splitting tensile strength added by accelerator and retarder. Water used is hot water (100°C), cold water (10°C), and normal temperature water (23°C). Accelerator and retarder used are 0%; 0 ,25%; 0,50% and 0,75% by cement weight. Concrete was made with FAS 0,35; 0,40; and 0,45.Tensile strength testing using a 15/30 cm concrete cylinder totaling 135 specimens, varied in FAS and percentage of admixture (accelerator and retarder), each variation has 5 specimens and tested at 28 days. The results showed that concrete using extreme temperature of mixed water using accelerator and retarder could affect concrete tensile strength compared to normal concrete without using admixture. In concrete mixture using cold water, an increase in tensile strength occurred at FAS 0,35; 0,40; and 0,45 with addition of 0,25% accelerator, which was 0,41%; 0,43% and 2,3% compared to using normal water temperature without accelerator addition. For hot water mixture, an increase in tensile strength at FAS 0,35; 0,40; and 0,45 with using 0,25% retarder, which was 4,49%; 6,04%; and 2,76% compared to concrete using normal water temperature without retarder addition.

This research aims to develop the TCTO sub-activity model of formwork, rebar work, and concrete work of the building structural beam on the projects in the North Aceh region. We have collected 33 data sourced from the project cost plan report and respondents judgment in the reviewed area. Descriptive statistics and the regression analysis are used to generate the TCTO model. Beton mutu tinggi yang tercantum pada SNI 03-6468-2000 didefinisikan sebagai beton yang mempunyai kuat tekan yang disyaratkan lebih besar sama dengan 41,4 MPa. Untuk memperoleh beton mutu tinggi hal yang perlu dilakukan adalah meningkatkan mutu material pembentuknya. Peningkatan mutu beton dapat dilakukan dengan penambahan atau mensubstitusikan bahan lain (additive) kedalam campuran beton. A Project Estimator cannot claim that his/her estimated duration is better than others. They can ... more A Project Estimator cannot claim that his/her estimated duration is better than others. They can determine the reasonable duration based on deterministic and probabilistic factors affecting the duration and then specify how to achieve it. This condition provides an overview that the activity duration changeable stochastically as a result of uncertainty-factors. However, we have a presumption that the activities duration will be normally distributed based on variation of its production rate per day (PRPD). The purpose of this study are (i) estimating the normal duration of the project activities using PRPD; and (ii) conducting the hypothesis testing for the PRPD normality of the project activities in South of Aceh. Hypothesis testing toward six-activities from 50 projects in South of Aceh will be used to achieve research objectives. Result shows PRPD normally distributed with skewness value still falling inside tolerance range of-1/+1. We argue that the normal duration of activity can be estimated more quickly involving its normal PRPD. An estimator does not need to predict what the factors affecting the duration estimation, especially in the bidding/tender process. They only need the normal PRPD as a standard value, to estimate, to assess and to verify the normality level of actual duration for the purpose of project decision.
