This research was conducted to determine the impact of the implementation of the MBKM KsK program in the Untag Surabaya environment. The activities carried out were data collection by filling out questionnaires and conducting Focus Group Discussions (FGD) with MBKM implementing stakeholders at the University, namely the Head of Study Programs, Lecturers, Students, Education Staff, and Partners for the implementation of MBKM implementation. From the results of the questionnaire and FGD, in general the implementation of the KsK MBKM in each study program provides benefits for the Head of Study Programs and Lecturers because they support the preparation and review of the curriculum in accordance with the MBKM program. In the tourism industry, geographical location is a key factor in managing tourist destinations. ... more In the tourism industry, geographical location is a key factor in managing tourist destinations. Sumenep is geographically located in the eastern tip of Madura Island and does not offer multiple modes of public transportation like other big cities. However, both facts do not hamper tourists to visit this city considering the growing number of tourists every year. Therefore, it is noteworthy to examine the impression management of the Sumenep Department of Tourism, Culture, Youth and Sports in developing tourism destination image. The research used descriptive qualitative design. Data was collected using in-depth interviews and observation, whereas the validity was verified using source triangulation method. The results showed that the impression management to develop a tourist destination image has been carried out by the Sumenep Tourism, Culture, Youth and Sports Office using three strategies, i.e. ingratiation, self-promotion and exemplification. The other strategies, supplication and intimidation, were not applied. It can be seen from various kinds of activities designed to promote tourist destinations in Sumenep, especially in the Visit Sumenep Program, which mostly consists of performances and festivals, as well as the promotion of local nature and cultural tourism.

The Covid-19 pandemic, which has been going on for almost a year in Indonesia, has forced various... more The Covid-19 pandemic, which has been going on for almost a year in Indonesia, has forced various fields to adapt. During a pandemic like now, crowds are highly discouraged. This is a big problem, especially for the performers of the traditional performing arts of saronen music. This condition makes the actors of saronen music culture must be able to maintain their existence by managing the impression that will be caused by the public. The impression management theory uses Edward Jones' typology which involves ingratiation, self-promotion, exemplification, supplication, and intimidation strategies. The approach used is qualitative with a single case study method. The research informants were selected by purposive sampling by setting the criteria for the selected informants, namely Moyu as group leader and Akhmad Suriyawan as other group representatives from the saronen music culture group. the validity of the data used by triangulation of sources. The data analysis technique uses a three-stage data analysis path where data analysis is carried out through the stages of data reduction, data presentation and verification of conclusion drawing. The results of the study show that the impression management applied by actors of Saronen music culture uses ingratiation, self promotion and supplication strategies. By looking at the condition of the Saronen music cultural group, the application of these three strategies is quite good. This is because of the suitability of the conditions of the group with the selection of the right strategy. However, the use of the supplication strategy in one form of activity. Not quite right, because the use of ingratiation and self promotion strategies is the opposite of its use with the supplication strategy. This has the potential to cause confusion among the public.

Media sosial adalah salah satu platform yang digunakan sebagai media promosi kepada masyarakat luas. Untuk menjaga budaya leluhur yang mulai punah. Penggunaan aplikasi editing foto digunakan untuk membuat kreasi foto yang menarik tentang budaya Saronen sebagai media promosi. Dengan memperkenalkan budaya Saronen melalui media sosial dengan foto yang menarik diharapkan akan mampu menarik minat masyarakat luas untuk ikut melestarikan budaya saronen yang diwariskan dari para leluhur. However, in the current era of globalization many foreign cultures, particulary Western countries, influence the country. It results in youth's lack of interest in local cultures. They prefer to adopt foreign cultures, which are perceived to be more modern. It is therefore interesting to study the communication process in preserving the culture of saronen to youth in Sumenep. This research employed a descriptive qualitative design. It was found that there were two strategies applied in preserving saronen music to youth, i.e., through interpersonal and public communication. There were three types of communication process implemented, i.e., one-way, interaction and transactional communication. During the interaction process, there were two types of communication applied, i.e., task-oriented communication and socioemotional-oriented communication.

During a pandemic like now, crowds are highly discouraged. This is a big problem, especially for the performers of the traditional performing arts of saronen music. This condition makes the actors of saronen music culture must be able to maintain their existence by managing the impression that will be caused by the public. The impression management theory uses Edward Jones' typology which involves ingratiation, self-promotion, exemplification, supplication, and intimidation strategies. The approach used is qualitative with a single case study method. The research informants were selected by purposive sampling by setting the criteria for the selected informants, namely Moyu as group leader and Akhmad Suriyawan as other group representatives from the saronen music culture group. the validity of the data used by triangulation of sources. The data analysis technique uses a three-stage data analysis path where data analysis is carried out through the stages of data reduction, data presentation and verification of conclusion drawing. The results of the study show that the impression management applied by actors of Saronen music culture uses ingratiation, self promotion and supplication strategies. By looking at the condition of the Saronen music cultural group, the application of these three strategies is quite good. This is because of the suitability of the conditions of the group with the selection of the right strategy. However, the use of the supplication strategy in one form of activity. Not quite right, because the use of ingratiation and self promotion strategies is the opposite of its use with the supplication strategy. This has the potential to cause confusion among the public.

Media sosial adalah salah satu platform yang digunakan sebagai media promosi kepada masyarakat luas. Untuk menjaga budaya leluhur yang mulai punah. Penggunaan aplikasi editing foto digunakan untuk membuat kreasi foto yang menarik tentang budaya Saronen sebagai media promosi. Dengan memperkenalkan budaya Saronen melalui media sosial dengan foto yang menarik diharapkan akan mampu menarik minat masyarakat luas untuk ikut melestarikan budaya saronen yang diwariskan dari para leluhur. However, in the current era of globalization many foreign cultures, particulary Western countries, influence the country. It results in youth's lack of interest in local cultures. They prefer to adopt foreign cultures, which are perceived to be more modern. It is therefore interesting to study the communication process in preserving the culture of saronen to youth in Sumenep. This research employed a descriptive qualitative design. It was found that there were two strategies applied in preserving saronen music to youth, i.e., through interpersonal and public communication. There were three types of communication process implemented, i.e., one-way, interaction and transactional communication. During the interaction process, there were two types of communication applied, i.e., task-oriented communication and socioemotional-oriented communication.
