A Place for Cell Phone Sales Reps to Rant, Ask/Ans
This community is for anyone who has questions about their phones, or service. Not a place to rant.
This journal is meant to house specific rants FROM SALES REPS (not customers, please), questions from customers (if you have a problem or questions, please ask, don't go off on a tangent, you can get a straight-forward answer, I can guarantee), answers from wireless reps, and a way to share info abroad.

A few requests
SERVICE LEVEL REPRESENTATIVES
1. If you rant, please notate it as such and place the majority of the entry behind a cut. If it's directly about an incident regarding a customer, you might want to post it in customers_suck instead of here.
2. DO NOT POST QUESTIONS ABOUT SPECIFIC SYSTEMS USED BY YOUR PARTICULAR COMPANY. Those questions need to be asked at work. Also, do not post ANY login information related to said system. Information pertaining to those systems is under a non-disclosure policy set forth by the company. Posting information of this sort will result in instant banning, no questions asked.
3. If you're replying to a question, please make sure that the information you are providing is correct. If you harbor any doubts about the accuracy of the answer you're going to provide, refrain or direct the person to contact their provider's customer service.
4. We're all in this together--please no posts about "MY COMPANY IS BETTER THAN YURS." There are advantages GSM networks have over CDMA, and vice versa. It all depends on what a particular person is looking for. These kinds of posts will be deleted and the user warned. Repeat offenders will be banned.
CUSTOMERS
1. This is not a community for posts about how you dislike your service provider or how you think that company sucks. That's a post better suited for bad_service. All posts made in this fashion will be deleted and the user warned. Repeat offenders will be banned.
2. If you're posting a question about service, please
- state with whom you have service (e.g. Verizon Wireless)
- your price plan (e.g. 800 Anytime Minutes)
- where you're located (e.g. upstate New York, New York City, etc.)
If there's someone who can answer you question, we need to know specific information because there are differences between different regions. If you're looking into getting a handset, this is doubly important.
3. Please remember that this is a Livejournal community. The advice you receive here should not replace the information held by carriers. If you have any doubts, please contact Customer Service for your provider.
As long as we remain civil, peaceful and respective, this community will flourish, possibly making YOUR JOB a little easier.
If you do see a breach of Livejournal's TOS, the community's rules, trolling, etc., please contact xmafiaprncssx (owner) or winter_b0rn (moderator). Please provide a link to the entry or thread. If you have a screenshot, that's even better.

Helpful Information
Updating the PRL information on your handset - update your phone so that it knows where the towers for your service provider are. If towers are put in an area but your phone doesn't know it's there, you might roam.
800#s and websites - A comprehensive list of 800#s and websites for cellular providers. If there is a carrier not listed and you have the information, please comment on the entry so it can be updated.
The Do Not Call List - Even wireless numbers can be registered.
