Patients with OCD experience sudden intrusion of unwanted thoughts or unpleasant images into consciousness which result into obsessions thatare often accompanied by a profound sense of dire and the urge to perform specific compulsions. While depression is characterized by a loss of interest in everything. This study is an attempt to provide novel information about thought fusion and thought control strategies of patients with obsessive compulsive disorder and depression. The findings of the present study indicated that in patients with OCD increased thought fusion tends to decrease the use of distraction, self-control and reappraisal as thought control strategies and that patients with OCD involve more in thought fusion than patients with depression and the healthy controls. Patients with depression were observed to use worry in thought control strategy more than their counterparts. From the clinical perspective, thought fusion and thought controlare considered to bethe major aspects of OCD. An important viewpoint of treatment is the understanding of OCD with respect to cognitive fusion and thought control which will ultimately lead to a better outcome of metacognitive therapy and acceptance and commitment therapy.

This tendency of delaying workuntil the last moments of the deadline is called 'Procrastination'. This subjective change in procrastination is ought to study through this research on the basis of the five-factor model of personality. This behaviour of striving for perfectionism is different among people and hence this study also focuses on perfectionism among different personality domains. Aim: The objectives of the current study were to examine the psychological well-being and the effect in perceived strain among parents during the COVID-19 outbreak in eastern India. Method: Parents of 290 children completed an online survey which investigated variables like demographics, perspective and use of tele-rehabilitation, routine homecare therapy, parent's strain and psychological well-being. Result: Data analysis revealed prevalence of symptoms associated with depression, anxiety and stress factors, which was found to be 65.5 %, 20.6 % and 37.4 % respectively. A significant difference was observed regarding perceived strain among the parents (p < 0.001, effect size = 0.92). Parents from rural areas not aware of tele-rehabilitation resulting it as poor mode for rehabilitation indicated higher risks for mental issues whereas a negative perception regarding homecare therapy was strongly associated with higher psychological symptoms and m ental strain. Conclusion: Present study associated higher prevalence of depression and significant change in strain exhibited by parents during the sudden COVID-19 outbreak. On the other hand, this study identified several factors related with poor psychological well-being and perceived strain which can be used to guide and 8123 increase awareness among parents and caregivers of children with Autism.

It has revolutionized the way we reach and connect and gave us the whole new range of purposes to remain online. This research is an attempt to probe into the gender differences in motives of using internet. The motives were classified under six major categories, viz. entertainment. pass-time, social interaction, surveillance, shopping and eroticism, that covered almost all for which we spend most of our time on net except the use for scholarly purposes. Data was collected from 100 university students equally divided into males and females. The results revealed that there were significant differences in internet usage motives of male and female students. Their choices and preferences differed significantly for various categories, like eroticism was the main motive of internet usage for boys while girls came online for surveillance majorly and entertainment remained almost an equal motivator for both the genders. The study gives us an insight into the direction that our youth is picking up on and this might be accounted as one of the major reasons of increasing number of rapes in India and the need of psychological probing required to counsel the youth.

From business to personal life, education to training, information exchange, communication, beliefs and culturealmost everything has witnessed some kind of transformationnot only in terms of what we do but also how we do it. What is being witnessed in today's information age is the birth of a global culture. The most rapid technological developments in human history have taken place in the later part of last century and they have given rise to two contradicting transformations. On one hand, the technological advancements such as electronic and now computer-based communications systems have brought people together in unprecedented ways. Sitting in one corner of a room we can locate anybody on earth and connect and communicate with them. We can create and contribute to online communities in varied ways. On the other hand, some of the technological advancements have brought changes that have served to isolate individuals and communities. This is because of increased comforts and easy access to communication technology. This paper is an attempt to raise questions about how technology has started infiltrating our core values of the collective existence of human beings. The authors dig into disparate threads in research literature and review the finding. Putting together the threads, some conclusions have been drawn regarding the dual role played by the technology in our lives. It is an attempt to understand and make a strong argument that as a collateral damage, technology interventions are pushing us towards being lesser human.
