| | I just received today the first package (out of 4 in total) I've been waiting for, and it contained the 2011 calendar of D.Gray-Man ^^This review and photos I'm offering to you here are mainly to stanch your thirst of information about it for all the fans out there, but more than anything, I believe it's directed to the people who are hesitating whether purchasing it or not.The official release date is November 14th, but as you can see, I already got it in hands at home long before, even thought it was sent all the way from Japan aha~And so! Let's get going with the reviewing: -it comes in the usual carton box (you can see the pic bellow) -the weight is rather light I might say -and the dimensions are 285mm*285mm. -there are a total of 14 pages including absolutely everything (meaning the front cover and final illustration too). -about the cover and final illustration (last page): they got a metallic feel to it, I don't know if you see what I mean? I purposely took pictures in which there is tons of reflections, to show you how much the Light reflect/shine on them ^^-about the pages: this is where all the originality of this calendar reside I believe. Starting with the black pages >> the paper quality feels like a sketchbook one, meaning not smooth, and the picture on it is very pretty when seen close that is, since the ink used is silver colored, it really feels like it was drawn directly on it, so nice >///< As for the color pages, what you would expect: glossy pages with high quality pictures. That said, con point here, is that as far as I could tell, all those pics were already known, meaning nothing new that you wouldn't find in either the manga or the Artbook. -by the way, in case it wasn't obvious already, black and color pages alternate: one black page, one colored one and so on.-still about the black pages, there is actually a trick to them: they can be taken off! In the picture bellow, I stroked in red the line since they weren't visible on the photo:**( about taking off the pages...Collapse )**-my final word is something pretty obvious: the big interest of this calendar, is that after using it, you can still use it and convert it a book full of posters like pages, since the colored pages got not text on it ^^ Well, I don't think there is much left to say, do ask if you have any questions though, meanwhile, enjoy viewing all 18 photos bellow, click on the thumbnails to enlarge them.
